JOB SUMMARY:

The Data Analytics & Reporting Specialist will work within the Operational Excellence team under Optimization Services and Diversity & Inclusiveness service line. The individual will work to help enable teams across ET (Enterprise Technology) and other service lines to standardize, collect/receive the necessary metrics needed for bench marking, measuring and trending our progress and successes in meeting or exceeding service management targets.

As Data Analytics and Reporting Specialist you'll be responsible for the identification and capture of data points; inspection and cleansing of data; transformation of data into meaningful analysis, statistics, reports and dashboards; analysis and identification of trends and opportunities for improvement; creating valuable insights, recommendations and forecast value of return / return of investment, present findings/observations and providing conclusions/recommendations to key stakeholders to support decision making and continual service improvement.

You will be responsible in driving the innovation by implementing cutting-edge machine learning methodologies to improve the business metrics.The Data Analytics and Reporting Specialist will be guided by the Operational Excellence Data Analytics Lead, however is expected to own and drive continuous improvement initiatives / projects and be able to work under own initiative and as part of a team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:

  • Obtain, document and analyze Enterprise Technology reporting needs and requirements through collaboration with department leaders

  • Translate business problems into machine learning solution

  • Work across functional lines to strive for and ensure consistent data quality

  • Undertake pre processing of structured and unstructured data

  • Analyze large amounts of information to discover trends and patterns

  • Build predictive models and machine-learning algorithms

  • Present information using data visualization techniques

  • Build understanding of business and operational strategies and identify critical metrics required to support those strategies

  • Perform analysis and develop recommendations for continuous improvement opportunities

  • Ability to handle various data sources, using data modeling work to develop reporting capabilities and valuable insights across these data sources is key.

  • Design, build, deploy and maintain text mining models, intelligent dashboards and data warehouse.

  • Continuous improvement and development of Data Analytics best practice within Enterprise Technology incorporating industry leading standards

  • Continuous collaboration and partnership with all teams across Enterprise Technology to gain insight on pain areas for improvement and operational expertise

  • Accountable for owning and delivery of projects and initiatives, creating ROI (return of investment) forecasts all each project/initiative utilizing data intelligence and operational knowledge from technical subject matter experts and compiling/presenting monthly accomplishment presentations to management which exhibits the value return/ROI projections gained from our Optimization Services Team

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

  • Maintains advanced interpersonal and collaborative skills to engage strategically with peers and other senior executives of the firm, in cross business discussions to build and maintain a solid network for effective teamwork and knowledge sharing. Uses these communication skills to challenge insightfully, to direct improvements and remediation to processes, propose credible options as solutions, and position Enterprise Technology’s role in quality technical service management and IT infrastructure business support.

  • Advanced consultative skill to conduct effective questioning to break down complex issues into core elements, formulate appropriate ideas and negotiate those ideas clearly and concisely to advance a cooperative engagement by all levels of the organization including senior and/or executive management. Manifests a strong analytical and problem solving ability to negotiate complex and conflicting issues, handle ambiguity as well as multiple and shifting priorities and to drive Enterprise Technology related decisions that are both financially sound and operationally feasible.

  • Proven track record of establishing, maintaining and improving team behaviors through the use of Metrics and Key Performance Indicators

  • Adapts communication style to the style of others. Develops rapport and remains calm under pressure. Builds strong relationships across all levels of a matrixed, geographically and culturally dispersed organization utilizing advanced oral and written English communication skills.

  • Maintains an advanced knowledge of Data Analytics and Reporting best practice.

  • Utilizes proper resource, time and project management disciplines across a diverse culture, differentiating regulations and multiple time zones.

  • Provide individual and peer mentoring as appropriate and required to develop capabilities within team, function and organization

  • Ability to comprehend business needs, convert them into BRD & TRD (Business/Technical requirement document), develop implementation road map and execute on time.

  • In-depth experience in working with large datasets, derive insights and present information through visualization and reports.

  • Advanced understanding of the ETL process & best practices

ANALYTICAL/DECISION MAKING RESPONSIBILITIES:

The role requires advanced analytical acumen and solution orientation. The role possesses critical thinking skills and the ability to understand and manipulate data to provide insightful observations, identify trends and communicate these effectively. The role is expected to act independently to make timely and informed decisions aligned to the role’s remit or to escalate as appropriate to management or others in IT as needed. The role’s insight and proposed actions should strive to be strategic, look beyond ‘stop gap’ measures and seek to drive improvements to reporting and analysis practices in a manner that is both effective and supporting the value Enterprise Technology has to the business.

SUPERVISION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • This role will have no direct supervision responsibilities, however is expected to provide guidance, expertise support, coaching and mentoring to Data Analytics and Reporting analysts.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

The role may also require the periodic allocation of additional time on the job to support multiple demands and escalating issues or to accommodate teams or staff in other time zones.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION:

  • Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline

EXPERIENCE:

  • Over 5+ years of work experience. At least 3+ years working in a data analytics / business intelligence role

  • Processing, cleansing, and verifying the integrity of data before developing ML models

  • Extensive data mining experience on data sourcing, data exploration and gathering, data modeling and deploying data models.

  • Selecting features, building and optimizing classifiers using machine learning techniques

  • Background in statistics and business/data modeling

  • Intermediate to advance experience in Python and R

  • Microsoft Excel 2013 Expert with VBA Programming skills

  • Advanced experience in using different DBMS (SQL Server, Oracle, MSQL & Access).

  • Advanced experience in Power-BI, Tableau and Spot fire

  • Experience on Big Data (Hive, Spark) would be beneficial

  • Advanced experience in project management (Waterfall / Agile approach)

CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • ITIL Foundation V3

  • Project Management Professional (PMI)

  • Certified Analytics Professional (CAP)

  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE): Data Management and Analytics

  • Equivalent data analytics certifications are acceptable.
