Lockheed Martin Aeronautical Engineer in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania
Description: Join the Lockheed Martin team in our Air Force Programs locations where we are doing cutting edge engineering on missions of national strategic importance. Help us build on our more than 60 year history of supporting of our Air Force customer, while we develop systems for the next 60 years. Perform aerodynamic/thermodynamic/flight dynamic design and analysis tasks within ICBM and Strategic Systems, Hypersonics and other program areas located in Valley Forge, PA, Huntsville, AL, Orlando, FL, and Denver, CO. Develop and perform trade study analyses in conjunction with a conceptual design team. Perform aerodynamic analysis and design using computational fluid dynamics, and perform wind tunnel testing to assess aerodynamic characteristics including control mechanisms as well as aero heating environments for strategic missile systems, hypersonic vehicles, and related components. Define heating environments during ascent and reentry, simulate thermal/material response, perform heatshield and insulation sizing, aerothermal ground test planning/execution/analysis, and component thermal analysis. Perform vehicle flight dynamic analysis, modeling and simulation tasks with the goal of ensuring that a vehicle is capable of finding its way to an intended destination and delivering its payload optimally.
