The candidate will report directly to the manager of the NYL GAAP consolidations group in the Accounting & Consolidations Corporate GAAP division and will be responsible forthe quarterly and annual GAAP consolidation reporting functions of New York Life and its subsidiaries.


  • Candidate will be the point person for preparing the New York Life consolidation and will ownthe entire end-to-end process of preparing the GAAP consolidation

  • This candidate will be responsible for the preparation and associated analysis of25 schedules included in a quarterly package distributed to the Controller

  • This candidate will possess strong collaboration and leadership skills and will work directly with business unit contacts throughout the company, along with managing the co-sourced team in India

  • The candidate will also be a key contributor in identifying and implementing key process improvement opportunitieswithin the GAAP consolidation process to more efficiently streamline the GAAP reporting process

  • This Candidate will prepare various surveys requiring GAAP information

  • This Candidate will have a significant role is supporting the NYL consolidated footnote and statement of cash flow preparation process at year-end

  • This candidate will be responsible for preparing and maintaining quarterly internal SOX controls over the GAAP consolidation process and insuring all controls are operating effectively


· B.S. in Accounting or Finance

· 7+ years relevant experience

· Knowledge of GAAP Accounting Principles

· Strong understanding of financial controls

· Willingness to seek innovative efficiencies

· Strong leadership and collaboration skills

· Strong written and oral communication, and interpersonal skills

· Strong knowledge of SAP a plus
