Overview

A critical priority for Treasury Services Business is to ensure that high-quality data is available to run our business and meet our clients' needs. The Global Banking Data Steering Group defines Global Banking data strategy and support for the core data used across Treasury Services and needed to run our business, such as client data, account data, product data, reference data, securities, pricing data and transactions data. We work with the Treasury Services business to analyze data, ensure data governance and data quality standards are in place, look for efficiencies in business processes, and work with our technology partners to implement solutions.

The Reference Data Strategy Execution Lead will be responsible for defining, implementing, adopting, on-boarding and executing Treasury Services’ overall Reference Data strategy for production, distribution and consumption of golden source system of record data sets, as well as implementing and operationalizing a process for line of business compliance with the Firmwide Reference Data management policy & standards.

The Reference Data Strategy Execution Lead will collaborate with data owners and data stewards, Business Management & technology partners (Chief Business Technologist Areas, Application Owners) and will be responsible for managing the following major work streams:

  • Understanding how reference data flows are managed and its ultimate use in Global Banking Business

  • Identifying adoption scope through detailed analysis, stakeholder networking, surveying and sampling

  • Determining how to drive reference data adoption technologically with data providers and data consumers, including guiding development of formal business requirements/User Stories, where necessary

  • Identifying key users, and partnering with, to develop implementation adoption plans leveraging strategic solutions. Includes building business cases focusing on analysis and reporting issues that would be solved through improved reference data and associated processes

  • Executing on the target-state operating model and adoption process

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and execute Reference Data adoption strategy for Global Banking Business

  • Responsible for Global Banking Reference Data book of work and program management

  • Develop key metrics and reporting that include key messages, control and operational effectiveness, and overall status of Global Banking Reference book of work

  • Manage escalated issues that have not been resolved to the business satisfaction

  • Solicit input from business and technology constituents and achieve long-term strategic solutions for business partners

  • Develop and nurture partnerships with key stakeholders including Global Banking Data Steering Group, Firm wide CDO team, Central reference data management organization, Operations and technology

  • Prepare presentations and materials for key stakeholder and senior executive reviews including reference data program book of work forums, Global Banking Data Steering Group

  • Inventory the applications across LoBs that have reliance on Legacy Reference Data and liaise with the application owners / AD managers to understand and document the purpose of usage in business terms

  • Actively gather Data quality metrics related to relevant Reference Data domains from the DQM portal, by liaison with E2E owners of the issues in traction

  • Spearhead select DQM issues by acquiring commitment on approach/timelines from parties responsible for remediation , coordinating with all impacted stakeholders and tracking consistently all the way to closure

  • Manage Risks/Issues through implementing mitigation measures to prevent potential slippages of deliverables

  • Assist in driving the Strategic Financial Reference Adoption program

Desired Experience and Skills:

  • 15+ years of experience in Financial Services or Consulting in complex program and Stakeholder management

  • 10 or more years of experience in Data Governance covering data strategy execution, reference data management, data quality and metadata management

  • Knowledge and understanding of financial services reference data such as client information, account, products, instruments and transactions information

  • Knowledge and experience in data privacy, operations, and technology functions preferred

  • Outstanding program management and delivery skills

  • Demonstrated track record of a high level of personal initiative and leadership, and of setting and achieving challenging goals

  • Must be able to drive into details and abstract the detail for executive communication

  • Must be able to work effectively and build strong relationships with teams throughout the organization

  • Independent, organized, self-motivated and a team player

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills, with a fine attention to detail

  • Strong interpersonal leadership, partnership and influencing skills – ability to interact with colleagues at all levels in a peer-like manner and achieve goals without direct control over resources
