Verizon Quality Engineer in Irving, Texas

What you’ll be doing...

You’ll be working with DevOps methodologies and directly with application developers, guiding the development and implementation of Cloud applications, systems and processes. You will also have experience with deployment and orchestration of Docker containers on a Cloud platform. You will use DevOps and agile principles, utilizing Jenkins, Ansible to enable CI/CD of various cloud applications.

You will work on day to day monitoring and operations of cloud and legacy applications. You will develop automation using scripting languages. After initial training, you will be able to handle critical operation tasks as well as on demand requests for Surveillance Applications.

  • Working as a domain expert in diverse strategic complex Enterprise initiatives.

  • Using in-depth knowledge of the business processes involving Network, Analyze architecture, relationship between systems, and systems flow of end-to-end designs for Provisioning systems in L2/L3 networks.

  • Develop strong partnership with business counterpart to evaluate business need and solution's alignment with user experience.

  • Successful partnership with development teams, E2E/IST and other System Test organizations, project PMs to collaborate and communicate issues/risks to make the certification process visible, effective and on-time.

  • Transform functional, business and system knowledge into effective test case planning and execution.

  • Maintain & develop custom scripts or code for automation using automation testing tool.

  • Prepare daily status reports with Progression and Regression results including issues, if any.

What we’re looking for...

  • Bachelor’s degree or one or more years of experience

  • Experience in Quality Assurance and/or Software Development

  • Experience in Advanced Automation scripting using Automation testing tool, preferably HP QTP or Selenium.

  • Knowledge of computer programming languages like Java

  • Knowledge of Jira

Even better if you have:

  • A degree

  • Experience in Test Planning, execution, tracking tool, preferably Jira and Jenkins

  • Experience in Programming languages like Java, .Net, Perl/Shell/AWK scripting

  • Hands-on working experience in equipment troubleshooting for a Telco or Equipment Vendor or in Network activation in a Live Lab or production environment.

  • Teamwork & collaboration skills to work across organizations and lead cross-functional teams.

  • Communication & stakeholder management skills.

  • Problem solving skills to develop quick and sound solutions to resolve complex issues.
