Agency Relations Manager - Marketing

The Agency Relations Manager is responsible for bringing agency expertise, quality, and innovations to Deloitte, maximizing the value of relationships with our preferred marketing agencies. This role sits in a centralized Agency Operations team and works closely with marketing teams, agency partners, procurement, legal, finance and senior leadership.

Responsibilities include

  • Partner with senior leadership on agency roster and relationship strategy, and creative resource ecosystem

  • Consult with internal teams across the organization to understand their evolving marketing needs and select the best agency fit for projects.

  • Help develop and refine select marketing briefs.

  • Communicate with and educate marketers on agency ways of working, policy and compliance; provide training when appropriate.

  • Liaise with select agency partners and marketing teams on day-to-day business management issues.

  • Advise on select Statement of Work / Work Order creation and negotiation with Agency partners.

  • Manage strategic agency contracts reviews and negotiations along with marketing and procurement.

  • Develop new methods for efficiencies: developing cost models and benchmarks; implementing project and production savings processes; internal SOW review process.

  • Research agency landscape and trends, curating new potential agency resources and approaches in agency management and compensation.

  • Ensure that all financial and legal reporting and control processes are supported with proactive communication in all agency relationships.

  • Manage Agency Performance evaluation process, leading Quarterly Business Reviews and Annual Evaluation process across all teams and internal key stakeholders (includes defining criteria, working with the businesses and the agencies to prioritize criteria, making sure that evaluations are completed, and that feedback discussions and next steps are clearly defined for both sides.

Requirements include

  • Advertising/creative agency experience and/or agency management experience required.

  • Must have in-depth understanding of agency operations and financials/financial models.

  • Previous experience in having negotiated major Statements of Work

  • In-depth knowledge of marketing strategy, brand building, tactical planning and execution.

  • Team oriented approach with ability to take initiative, prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously to meet client expectations and deadlines across multiple projects

  • Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Organized with ability to prioritize and manage client expectations across multiple, competing projects/priorities with aggressive due dates and quick turn-around times

  • Ability to work in a matrixed organization with a virtual team, experience in large corporate setting and/or professional services a plus

  • Strong persuasive skills and able to gain consensus through influence

  • Financial management skills and ability to manage budget

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills

  • Executive presence, professional client service manner, demonstrated ability to take initiative and interact with all levels of management and adapt to business needs

  • Negotiation and problem-solving skills; flexibility and adaptability

  • Ability to think both strategically and tactically

  • Collaborative working style to build relationships, including collaborating with multiple business marketing teams, technology teams, sales, and vendors

  • Data mining and data analysis skills with the ability to clearly present complex information in a simple manner, discern business meaning and recommended actions to stakeholders

  • Strong experience with Outlook, Word/PowerPoint, Excel

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree required

  • 10 years of specifically relevant experience

  • Travel range of 0-25%
