Verizon Wireless Senior Finance Manager - Pricing in Greenwood Village, Colorado

What you’ll be doing...

The North Central Finance Organization is looking for a dynamic individual to join the Business Pricing team. The team is responsible for providing financial oversight and decision support to the North Central leadership team for business segment growth and retention. Our mission is to partner with sales leadership to drive shareholder value through profitable growth opportunities.

As a member of a team of professionals whose primary responsibility is to collaborate with business sales teams to develop and negotiate creative offers encouraging growth in connections, while balancing profitability. Keep abreast of the competitive wireless landscape and understand how the changes impact pricing and promotions. Build relationships and coordinate approval of offers with national deal desk and government offer development teams. Design consistent processes and practices to accelerate speed to market & ensure price equity across the business channel. This position requires a solid understanding of the business, financial statements, financial analysis and performance drivers. Possesses the ability to lead and motivate teams; exhibits strong communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal. Value is provided to the Enterprise by acting with urgency and delivering balanced offers to grow the business. Individual must have proven track record of leading programs, projects and processes that improve business performance.

  • Contribute to the development of the overall strategy of the Finance organization.

  • Identify changes in marketplace demands and trends for consideration in pricing deals and proposals.

  • Oversee team’s analysis and recommendations in response to customer requests in order to maintain and win new small, medium and large business, as well as state and local government accounts.

  • Monitor segment performance and assist sales teams to develop retention offers for at-risk accounts.

  • Ensure all pricing proposals receive timely and efficient review.

  • Track customer contract commitments and partner with sales on remedies, as needed.

  • Form in-building solutions proposals, collaborate with sales and network teams, review economics, and provide recommendations and approvals.

  • Partner with national deal desk to streamline decision, offer and contract implementation process.

  • Support strategic projects, identify key business and financial risks, and support setting financial priorities within the Market.

  • Provide decision support for Market Leadership; work to instill finance principles throughout the Market. Outline options while executing priorities and business related decisions to achieve Market goals and drive results.

  • Analyze ROI and profitability for business initiatives and identify improvement plans.

  • Identify optimal venues and methodologies for effectively communicating business results to audience. Prepare presentations in support of quarterly senior leadership meetings and various strategic committees of the company. Conduct special financial and business related analysis for operational reviews, as necessary.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, or Business Administration or four or more years of work experience.

  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

  • Financial analysis experience or knowledge.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

  • Experience with financial systems and applications.

Even better if you have:

  • MBA, CPA, CFA or CMA.

  • 6 or more years of financial analysis experience or extensive knowledge.

  • Understanding of wireless industry trends and key business drivers.

  • Advanced analytical and modeling skills – ability to review financial results and provide meaningful analysis, ability to proactively identify key business issues and drivers, and develop substantive analysis to support recommendations.

  • Strong organizational and problem solving skills – ability to organize, plan, and develop solutions to complex issues.

  • Ability to work and think independently, interpret and exercise professional judgment, and creatively problem solve.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills – ability to accurately and creatively summarize analysis with relevant points for executive presentations and capability to communicate effectively with all levels of management.

  • Willingness to be flexible in working towards solutions on issues which impact the broader organization.

  • Effective at building strong working relationships at all levels of the organization.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment with evolving priorities and critical deadlines to meet.

  • Extensive experience communicating financial data to sales professionals and executive levels, and the ability to look at the business from a high level strategic point of view as well as from a detailed and operational level.

  • Business case development/financial modeling experience (including NPV, payback, EBITDA analysis).
