Lockheed Martin Senior Structural Engineering Manager / Dallas, TX in Grand Prairie, Texas

Description: -This position requires a decisive leader capable of the functional management of approximately 80 mechanical, aeronautical and other engineer disciplines in Stress, Dynamics, Environmental, Thermal, Material Science, Propulsion and Energetics.

-Staffing programs with technically competent personnel as required ensuring that departmental support to program is effective and timely.

-Support weekly manpower staffing meetings and reviews.

-Match the capabilities of personnel to forecast requirements through recruiting, mentoring, transferring, or dismissing personnel as appropriate.

-Work interactively with the Human Resources Department to submit personnel for awards and recognition, support initiatives and recruiting new hires.

-Participate in technical reviews and provide technical oversight to program issues as required.

-Assist programs and personnel usage of corporate and MFC policy.

-Coordinate the section's Performance Assessment process.

-Review and signs-off on all department annual performance reviews.

-Recommend merit increases and promotions in accordance with employee performance and company budgets and guidelines.

-Support the enterprise director in understanding and maintaining the department overhead budget.

-Assist in developing the department strategies and goals.

-Maintain relevant contacts within industry, universities, and customer areas.

Desired Skills: Conversant with:

-Pro/Engineer CERO 3, Pro/ Intralink, OptiStruct, Thermal Desk Top, CFD, MUSES, NASTRAN, ADAMS, ANSYS, MATLAB, and ABAQUS.


-Candidate must have an Active Department of Defense Secret Clearance with a closed investigation (or re-investigation) with 5 years.

-Candidate must have a Bachelor's or Master's degree (preferably in an engineering related field) with at least 20 years of relative experience.

-Candidate must have a minimum of 7 years of management experience.

-Professional experience with engineering skills related to design and analysis, materials, propulsion, optics and thermal engineering.

-Candidate must possess strong oral and written communication skills and has demonstrated superior interpersonal skills.

-Candidate should have a strong vision for personnel development with an emphasis in mentoring process.
