Description: This occupation requires the application of electrical and electronic skills and knowledge to accomplish the development, modification, disassembly, repair, rework, assembly, test, calibrate, diagnoses and functional and operational checkout of modified, new and production electrical and/or test equipment, aerospace ground equipment, test panels and related components.

Basic Qualifications:

Is assigned to and responsible for performing the operations necessary to fabricate, assemble, rework, modify, diagnose, and make repairs to electronic test equipment, aerospace ground equipment, specialized electronic equipment, general purpose test equipment, test panels and related components. Also Perform such operations as progressively checking, adding, relocating, removing or altering electronic components, subcomponents, detailed parts, modules and other items used in electronic circuits.

Performs the operations necessary to bench check and diagnose malfunctions which fail to respond to corrective measures. Perform procedures to identify, isolate, verify, and ascertains the cause of trouble in such equipment and perform work operations necessary to restore it to an operative condition. May assist engineers or other personnel in developing testing procedures as well as determine and recommend changes in electronic test equipment. May perform mockup, fabrication, installation of electronic equipment, harnesses, power outlets, instruments, brackets, control knobs, components, accessory equipment, new developmental experimental test equipment, test panels.

Work from authorizing documents such as tool orders, engineering diagrams, detail electrical schematics, blueprints, functional test specifications, equipment history data, vendor/manufacturing handbooks, check sheets, equipment instruction manuals and written instructions to preform work on electronic test equipment, test panels, aerospace ground equipment as required per component/engineering requirements.

Desired Skills:

Have knowledge of both Digital and Analog equipment.

Working knowledge and the skills to perform hot air soldering, Wafer soldering, and CC Soldering.

Proficient with Electrical testing equipment multi meters and wiring tools and wiring specifications. Experienced at interpreting and working to electrical schematics.

Reliable mechanical skills to disassemble equipment and to remove connector pins.
