Geospatial Systems Engineer

Key Role:

Support, advise and assist with managing the design, implementation, and management of databases, data delivery systems, software, and tools of the client’s full end-to-end geospatial enterprise for the delivery of visualization, analysis, and reporting. Support end-to-end geospatial enterprise client capability, including conception, construction, implementation, and testing of GIS databases, applications, software, and production systems. Recommend solutions to streamline the production and data delivery process across the enterprise and assist in the design and development of data automation, data migration, and database development projects for the client and their customers. Apply expertise in the development of and apply advanced GIS software and systems methods, theories, and techniques in the investigation and solution of complex and advanced technical problems for our client’s geospatial needs. Support upgrades to the GIS enterprise, software updates, testing and evaluation, and the incorporation and implementation of spatial tools or analytic capabilities that support the full spectrum of the client geospatial offering. Plan, conduct, and technically advise on projects or major phases of significant projects. Serve as one of the primary points for the enterprise and support engagements with senior-level clients and with the internal and external client customers and coordinate workflows and projects with project managers, technical support teams, and other analysts.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in a professional work environment using GIS-related technology

  • Experience with supporting the development of GIS database designs

  • Experience with building databases or data stores from imagery and cartographic/digital sources

  • Experience with writing geoprocessing Python and SQL scripts

  • Ability to use the Esri product line proficiently, including ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Desktop, and related desktop extensions.

  • Ability to perform basic and advanced processing tasks using ArcGIS and other Esri products and extensions to accomplish map and web map production tasks

  • TS/SCI clearance

  • BA or BS Degree

  • Security+ Certification

Additional Qualifications:

  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Possession of excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to think quickly

  • BA or BS degree in Geography, GIS, Cartography, CS or a related technical field preferred

  • GISP Certification preferred

Clearance:
