Senior Database Administrator
As the, Senior Database Administrator, you are responsible for providing technical consultation, programming support, and project leadership for the planning, installation, and maintenance of the database management software as well as the design, performance and integrity of the database management applications. You will work on assigned or initiated tasks, with responsibility for meeting deadlines.
Complex technologies including Oracle RAC, ASM, DataGuard, Oracle E-Business Suite performance tuning and Informatica
Design, implement and maintain standardized, scalable and effectively monitored database environment, utilizing industry standard tools, technologies and best practices.
Design and implement standards for monitoring; ensure that database environment is running effectively, including backups and disaster recovery
Stay current with new database technologies, new features, monitoring and tuning tools as well as industry standards and best practices
Support corporate-wide strategic initiatives, which includes ensuring compliance with all security, disaster recovery mandates and regulatory agency oversight.
Ensure proper standards are being followed in development to ensure highly available and reliable database environment
aintain communication with managers to ensure quality and effective database solutions are offered and implemented and also coordinate with the development architecture group to ensure that corporate design guidelines are followed
Planning, implementation, configuration and general administration of company's databases, including documentation of long-range requirements, operational guidelines, access controls and backup and recovery, security and auditing, performance tuning, and installations and migrations
Ensure all aspects of the database environment are monitored and functioning optimally
Work with vendor technical support groups to resolve any issues that cannot be resolved quickly and effectively internally
The ability to be the technical lead in all phases (requirement gathering, design, development, quality assurance, implementation & monitoring) of critical database projects
Work independently and effectively in complex environments
What We re Looking For:
You have at least 5 years of practical experience coupled with proven originality and ingenuity, and well-developed problem solving capabilities in database software development tools, across multiple hardware and software environments.
At least 5 years experience administering database environments and utilizing industry standard tools, technologies and best practices
Proven analytical and technical skills who can communicate effectively with developer and DBA teams alike
The ability to logically design and build databases as well as the skill to review changes to database design to understand how these changes will affect the physical database.
Demonstrate superior knowledge of Oracle database features, tuning and design methodologies
Team player, have experience and be confident and comfortable working in a production environment.
Knowledge of Linux and Solaris operating systems
Postgres database skills would be looked at favorably
