Verizon Agile Scrum Master in Denver, Colorado

You are crucial to the success of our Agile teams, driving accountability and effective communication among and between teams. You enjoy implementing processes and ceremonies that make the teams more efficient, and have an arsenal of techniques for helping teams understand the principles and realize the benefits of Agile development.

  • Coordinating all Scrum Ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Sprint retrospectives, Sprint Demos, Story Grooming, and Release Planning.

  • Leading Agile aspects of a team including facilitation of Scrum Ceremonies, Impediment Resolution, Release planning, tracking and reporting the release plan, reporting metrics and handling team communication.

  • Mentoring and coaching teams on Agile/Scrum practices and self-organization.

  • Removing impediments to team deliverables and product goals.

  • Assessing Scrum Maturity of team and bringing team to higher levels of maturity at a sustainable pace.

  • Facilitating the building of a trusting and cooperative environment.

  • Facilitating discussion, decision-making, and conflict resolution within scrum ceremonies.

  • Managing project risks, dependencies and issues.

  • Communicating project expectations to team members and stakeholders to ensure objectives are met.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

  • Scrum Master certification (CSM) PMP-ACP or CSP certification.

  • Six or more years of experience as an AgileScrum Master.

  • Willingness to travel.

Even better if you have:

  • Master’s degree in Engineering or related discipline.

  • Expertise in diligently applying Agile principles, practices, and theory (User Stories, Story Pointing, Velocity, Burndown Metrics, Agile Games, Tasking, Retrospectives, Cycle Time, Throughput, Work in Progress levels, Product Demos).

  • Experience working with various software development practices (BDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Pairing, Automated Testing, DevOps).

  • Experience working with different Agile approaches (Scrum, Lean, XP, Kanban, etc.).

  • Experience with Agile ALM tools like Atlassian Jira, Rally, Mingle, etc.

  • Knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, influence and transparency.

  • Exceptional verbal, written and communication skills.

  • Detail-oriented and with the ability to understand and communicate technical information.

  • Strong presentation skills.

  • Other Agile or Project Management certification (PSM I, PSM II, SAFe).

  • Experience working with highly technical teams

  • Strong problem solving and analytical analysis skills.
