As an underwriter, you will be responsible for the analysis of submitted file for Capacity, Capital, Character, Collateral, and Condition. This includes ensuring that loan request meets program and product specifications or counter-offer to different product and/or program when appropriate. In addition, you will communicate decision (approval, suspense, denial) to appropriate individuals within JPMorgan Chase, uphold fair lending practices of JPMorgan Chase Mortgage, meet targets for productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction.

• Minimum of three years' experience as an underwriter

• Minimum of five years' mortgage experience

• Excellent analytical and decision making skills

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Strong negotiation skills

• Thorough knowledge of state policies

• Ability to work independently

• Thorough knowledge of complex personal and business financial analysis and an expertise in tax return and balance sheet analysis, including both cash flow and AGI methods

• Demonstrated experience in underwriting both manually and through the use of automated underwriting systems.

• Thorough knowledge of Mortgage Insurance policies
