The Senior Software Development Engineer designs, develops, and deploys engineering solutions to support the DART product for HDMS. This includes automating existing processes to provide efficiency in supporting department that provides desired functionality and services. Excellent understanding of unit testing on specific platforms.

Fundamental Components:

The Senior Software Development Engineer will be responsible for support and development of the ETL process for HDMS's Dart product. A successful candidate will be expected to: Gather and/or understand complex business and technical specifications for new projects, develop and implement solutions for our clients, troubleshoot issues for existing features and newly added features, document both existing and new functionality, and collaborate with other developers.

  • Solid understanding of language, frameworks, and unit testing.

  • Works with a cross-functional team, uses agile practices, writes, debugs, and delivers code.

  • Leads discussions with stakeholders from Customer Experience, Architecture, and Operations.

  • Identifies and fixes problems in code -Follows up to ensure success.

  • Produces solid, thoroughly tested features.

  • Mentors more junior team members. Exhibits the following Manager Behaviors

  • Ability to estimate size accurately and deliver on-time specification regularly based on those estimates.

  • Ability to take responsibility for the implementation, quality, and operation of large features, such as an epic-level story or multi-sprint feature.


  • 3+ years experience building Data Warehouses in HealthCare Arena using Informatica PowerCenter or other comparable ETL tools; Knowledge of other Informatica tools, including IDQ, PowerExchange, Data Governance is Big Plus.

  • 3+ years experience in Unix/Linux shell scripting, preferably BASH.

  • 2+ years experience using SAS Basic is helpful.

  • 3+ years development experience in ORACLE, SQLServer or Netezza

  • Working experience with one of Source Control system is must.

  • Training or work experience with Big Data is plus.

  • 5+ years software development experience.

  • Experience translating large features into software designs.

  • Ability to work independently and great work ethic is must.


The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
