Unit Description

Sodexo is seeking a Registered Dietitian for a full-time dietitian position at Mercy Hospital and Medical Center in Chicago a 250 bed acute care hospital.

Position will report to Clinical Nutrition Manager and ideal candidate will:

  • Work as part of a team of 5 RDs to provide nutritional care to acute care patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

  • Primarily be responsible for general medical and Telemetry patients with coverage of other units as needed. Additionally, responsible for Care (HIV) Clinic on Tuesday and Friday afternoons.

  • Be a Registered Dietitian and licensed where applicable.

  • Have experience with electronic charting and the NCP.

  • Work rotating weekends every other weekend providing hospital wide clinical coverage

  • Conduct in-services for food service staff & nursing.

  • Demonstrate excellent communication and customer service skills

  • Be familiar with the Nutrition Care Process and Electronic Health Records is preferred at the unit;

  • Have strong comprehension of the principles of clinical nutrition practice

  • Be a Registered Dietitian, eligible for licensure in the state if applicable; and

  • Have the ability to meet DOH/state/federal and company standards.

  • Prior experience with electronic charting a plus.

Position Summary

Responsible for providing direct basic nutrition services

Key Duties

-Provides nutrition care to population served to ensure needs and customer satisfaction levels are met.

-Maintains and develops client relationships and client satisfaction to ensure account retention.

-Manages, promotes, and educates others on food and nutrition programs according to Sodexo standards and policy.

-Collaborates and communicates with culinary and clinical departments on established processes, special diets, and menu requests and probes potential problems and apprises manager of status on resolution of problems or issues, using appropriate Sodexo resource when necessary.

-Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local regulations as well as Sodexo/client policies and procedures (e.g. Health Dept., HIPAA/Privacy Act, Joint Commission, quality assurance, safety, operations, and personnel) by keep abreast of the most recent nutrition-related trends, research, policy, certifications, and standards of practice.

-Follows operating standards, implements quality improvements and communicates them to other departments..

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor's Degree

Basic Functional Experience - Meets eligibility requirements for certification as a Registered Dietitian
