What you ll do
As a Manager on our CGT team, you will be part of a team participating in engagements requiring international trade regulatory analysis for a variety of U.S. and global entities and their affiliates. You will work with U.S. and multinationalcompanies, understand national and international trade requirements, and align clients trade function with their business objectives, with theopportunity to develop and pursue creative strategies using the latest technologies. Additional responsibilities will include:
Helping importers and exporters achieve worldwide compliance and realize efficiencies and advantages in their global supply chain.
Advising U.S. and foreign multinational companies on global import and export strategies and compliance.
Working with clients to assess and potentially automate their international trade management procedures within all major trading regions.
Supervising assignments by the CGT professionals serving as Consultants and Senior Consultants.
Developing and motivating the engagement staff by providing them with leadership, counselling, and career guidance.
Our Customs and Global Trade practice is a national practice within Deloitte Tax LLP's International Tax business, and advises U.S. and foreign multinational companies on global import and export strategies, compliance, and trade automation. The Customs and Global Trade practice is composed of attorneys, operations experts, customs brokers, auditors, and trade management professionals who help importers and exporters achieve worldwide compliance and realize efficiencies and advantages in their global supply chain. The group works with clients to assess and potentially automate their international trade management procedures within all major trading regions.
5 years operational experience in export compliance and planning with an in-depth knowledge of and experience with U.S. export regulations, including EAR, ITAR, and OFAC, and a working knowledge of non-U.S. export control
Bachelor s degree in a business-related field
U.S. customs broker license, certified U.S export compliance officer, certified ITAR professional, CPA license, or law license
Experience designing, implementing, and managing export compliance processes and internal controls
Familiarity with implementing and/or using trade management automation such as SAP GTS, Oracle GTM, MDI, etc., to manage export compliance
Project management experience indicating strong organizational, data management, project planning, project execution, and people skills
Business management and financial leadership experience indicating strong ability to plan and manage budgets, financials, and operations
Experience leading and managing project teams
Strong research, writing, communication, and presentation skills, and detail-orientated
Ability to proactively develop internal and external relationships and effectively speak to export compliance issues
A self-starter with the ability to effectively handle multiple, competing priorities
Aptitude in Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
Able to travel up to 50%
Prior Big 4 experience
Advanced degree such asMST, MAcc, JD, or LLM
Foreign language skills
