Lockheed Martin CMM Quality Technician in Chelmsford, Massachusetts

Description: As the CMM Technician, you will be responsible for all aspects of the measurement system, including fixtures, use of Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs), probe selection, and data output. You’ll apply knowledge of measurement science, Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T), quality, mathematics, engineering and manufacturing to define measurement techniques to provide reliable inspection data. Additional duties may include:

Interpret object blueprints and utilize pre-programmed CMMs to take accurate measurements.

Perform all dimensional layouts using coordinate measuring equipment and prepare layout reports.

Perform in-process and final dimensional inspection on components using CMM and conventional inspection methods and analyzes features to GD&T requirements.

Read and interpret GD&T data and comply with internal quality system, business policies and regulatory requirements.

Prepare detailed inspection documentation such as written descriptions of inspection results including deviations from engineering specifications.

Work with engineers to establish qualification and validation of new and/or changed tooling or parts, to understand how the data is applied within the manufacturing process and to develop practical data structures and GD&T.

Work with Quality to provide data to support control plans and SPC.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

8 yrs experience

Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM's) inspection of tight tolerance machined components

Strong knowledge / application of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)

Knowledge of inspection tools, micrometers, drop indicator, height gauge, etc

First Article Inspections

Microsoft Office

Ability to obtain interim security clearance
