Sodexo Operations LLC Accountant in CHEEKTOWAGA, New York

Unit Description

Sodexo, world leader in quality of life services, has a new opening for an Accountant in the Convenience Solutions Accounting department at our Financial Services center in Cheektowaga, NY.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Act as liaison between field operations/client and accounting departments in FSS in the setup of new ORS/Pantry business

  • Coordinate amongst multiple departments in accounting/finance, IS&T, and field operations for the implementation of electronic billing /payment set up, along with any other non-standard client requests.

  • Consistently apply GAAP, IFRS & objective accounting judgment to business units within and/or affected by department operations.

  • Process system accounting and financial matters for multiple location accounts in UFS and/or SAP. Responsibilities include accounts payable/receivable, fixed asset setup/disposal, reporting, etc.

  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial data with assistance/direction from the accounting manager and/or other colleagues

  • Reconcile client invoices to original documentation and deliver invoices to client(s) with complete and accurate supporting documentation.

  • Review customer activity for a list of clients. Follow up with clients to ensure payments are submitted promptly. Communicate with management on collection efforts for outstanding balances.

  • Perform other projects/tasks as assigned

Minimum Education/Experience Required:

  • Bachelors of Science Degree in Accounting

  • 1-2 years general accounting experience

  • 1+ year accounting experience in one of the following areas (preferred):

  • Vending/Office Refreshment Services

  • Accounts Receivable

  • Revenue Accounting

  • Client Services Accounting

  • Strong PC & related software knowledge

  • Strong verbal & written communication skills

  • Demonstrated analytical ability

  • Be willing to travel, as needed

Position Summary

Performs professional accounting work involving compilation, consolidation, and analysis of financial data. May include any or all of the following: ledgers and preparation of journal entries; fixed asset or inventory accounting; preparation of trial balance or financial statements; cost accounting; bank account reconciliation.

Basic Education Requirement - High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
