Job Description:

Responsible for developing and maintaining quantitative financial models and analytical infrastructure in Python/R/Excel VBA/Java/SQL to support FX / IR analysis, pricing, and risk management.

Responsibilities include:

  • Implement applications to capture/analyze real time asset price changes as well as performance change

  • Behaviorial modeling to analyze liquidity/funding flows to better understand client behavior under various market conditions

  • Implement algorithms to calculate risk exposure across large range of balance sheet products and risk factors

  • Understand implications of economic developments and their effects on financial markets and FX /IR products

  • Understand object-oriented, functional and procedural programming paradigms as well as design patterns, data mining/manipulation techniques (using databases or otherwise)

  • Read and understand theory papers and translate into robust and clear code and application

  • Develop and implement portfolio/risk/funding optimization tools

Enterprise Role Overview

Accountable for a specific trading activity. Understanding of liquidity management, bank funding strategy, money markets, economic indicators and Federal Reserve programs. Works closely with the Senior Trader and Bank Funding Managers to make optimal trading decisions to execute the funding strategy set forth. Ability to appropriately balance; liquidity, price, risk and other key factors within established guidelines. Ability to make quick market decisions independently. Contribute knowledge and expertise regarding funding and liquidity to day to day Funding Desk responsibilities. Responsible for pricing, executing and recording trades, ensuring operational cohesiveness and performing investor and dealer analysis. Evaluate funding opportunities with partners across the companies and provide recommendations based on thorough analysis to senior management. Execute funding transactions across international entities.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 2+ years of programming, modeling or financial market experience

  • Degree in a technical field (computer science , mathematical finance , engineering, physics, math preferred)

  • Ability to work well in a cooperative, time-sensitive, market-driven environment; Ability to work individually and with the group on complex problem solving; analytical skills, critical thinking and a strong desire to learn

  • Experience with programming Python/R/Excel VBA/Java/SQL, C++, R

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Experience handling large data sets, as well as distributed computation ( including SQL/RDBMS, OLAP, Pig/Hadoop etc)

  • Experience managing FX, interest rate or funding risk
