Bank of America Strategic Asset Liability Management – Senior Financial Analyst in Charlotte, North Carolina

Job Description:

The role will be in the Strategic Asset and Liability Management group within Treasury. The associate will join the team responsible for an initiative to develop enhanced enterprise collateral management capabilities across the Globe. The team will be developing collateral optimization analytics, enhanced reporting, and building out operational capabilities to manage collateral and currency risk. The associate will participate in pricing and structuring of transactions, identifying optimization opportunities, and be involved in Treasury management of non-USD currency risk.

  • Assist with development of an enterprise collateral management framework

  • Perform extensive analytics on the company’s collateral inventory and obligations

  • Partner with numerous business partners to identify enterprise wide opportunities for efficiencies

  • Work on developing enhanced collateral execution capabilities

  • Support efforts to implement a Global Treasury Non-USD funding risk framework

  • Develop understanding of financial markets; including interest rates, FX, repo, and derivative markets

  • Develop deep understanding of various collateral structures and subsequent impact on liquidity metrics

  • Prepare management materials and conduct ad-hoc projects for the team

Enterprise Role Overview

Accountable for a specific trading activity. Understanding of liquidity management, bank funding strategy, money markets, economic indicators and Federal Reserve programs. Works closely with the Senior Trader and Bank Funding Managers to make optimal trading decisions to execute the funding strategy set forth. Ability to appropriately balance; liquidity, price, risk and other key factors within established guidelines. Ability to make quick market decisions independently. Contribute knowledge and expertise regarding funding and liquidity to day to day Funding Desk responsibilities. Responsible for pricing, executing and recording trades, ensuring operational cohesiveness and performing investor and dealer analysis. Evaluate funding opportunities with partners across the companies and provide recommendations based on thorough analysis to senior management. Execute funding transactions across international entities.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

  • 2-5 years working in an analytical role focusing on finance

  • Excellent analytical and complex problem resolution skills

  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced, demanding environment, adapt to changing priorities and demonstrate initiative

  • Experience in financial markets; FX and interest rate markets, repo or money market products.

  • Proficient in MS Office tools, especially Microsoft Excel (v lookups, pivot tables) and Powerpoint

  • Inquisitive, willing to challenge the status quo and strive to improve processes

  • Team oriented; builds relationships to drive solutions

  • Strong communication/interpersonal skills

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • SQL / VBA

  • Bloomberg and other market sources

  • Experience in collateral settlements or derivative margin pledging
