Bank of America Sr. Technology Manager - Charlotte, NC in Charlotte, North Carolina
Responsible for projects limited in scope to LOB products, processes or functions although some may have cross-functional or inter-departmental implications. Serves as primary contact to senior department managers for critical change initiatives. Responsible for analyzing present-state, developing alternative future-state approaches and facilitating implementation. Responsible for clearly defined responsibilities and accountabilities for key project roles. Assesses the adoption risk associated with the change effort. Communicate risks and rewards associated with decisions and actions to stakeholders in business-oriented terms and ensure all controls are in place to sustain risk mitigation. Identifies, develops and executes strategies and supporting tactics to engage and influence all stakeholders to make needed behavioral changes. Creates a clear, coherent approach to guide effective program/initiative setup, execution and control. Leads the Adoption & Sustainment of Change. Identifies and makes recommendations regarding work that will potentially proceed, be delayed or stopped when environment changes occur. This role may manage a team of resources and budget. Excellent project management skills, including the ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines. Typically 5+ plus years of project management experience.
The Sr. Technology Manager will lead design and engineering for a segment of the US Financial regulatory reporting efforts. The successful candidate will be responsible for systems design, technical architecture, code review, and technical standards for existing and target state platforms. The ideal candidate will have a balance of technical and business acumen to help drive the technology enablement for our key stakeholders while adhering to our Software Delivery Methodology (SDM) echo system leveraging both the SDLC toolset an agile mythology.
Lead and drive technology for Regulatory reporting platforms.
Responsible for leading engineering discipline and innovation within an agile development environment.
Lead design, development and delivery of existing and target state platforms.
Serve as primary technology architect to the application development teams.
Manage a team of approximately 10-20 resources
Build a technical organization with engineering expertise and innovation
Understands our business function and works strategically with key stakeholders to enable clients using efficiency as a guiding principle.
Recruit, hire, retain and develop top talent within the function.
Assess current state, desired capabilities and greatest opportunities for impact. Ensure the right short and long term decisions are made with focus on the strategic priorities of the Company
Proactively manage risk. Integrate fundamental Risk Management principles into all execution considerations
10-15 years of experience with application engineering preferably within the Financial Services industry with focus on regulatory
Strong knowledge of application development and architecture and overall system design.
Seasoned technologist able to build and work in an Agile environment.
Hands on experience in building enterprise solutions with core technology tools such as Oracle, Exadata, Informatica and .Net
Excellent partner & teammate to peers; can influence & resolve across organizational lines
Superb relationship management and communication skills and who can navigate the organization, challenges the status quo to transform the business and bring multiple stakeholders together to achieve strategic business goals.
Able to leverage input from SME’s and to rapidly identify alternatives for things such as scope, design choices, resourcing alternatives, etc.
Strong influencing skills and the ability to assess key stakeholder perspectives and adapt style to navigate cultural diversity
Work history demonstrating a sense of personal accountability to drive execution from start to finish
