Position Summary

Application Developer position supporting Mobile FastTrack (new application) using Java programming skills and SDM methods including Agile/Lean development.

Job Description

  • Develops, enhances, debugs, supports, maintains and tests software applications that support business units or supporting functions.

  • These application program solutions may involve diverse development platforms, software, hardware, technologies and tools.

  • Participates in the design, development and implementation of complex applications, often using new technologies.

  • May provide technical direction and system architecture for individual initiatives.

  • Serves as a fully seasoned/proficient technical resource.

  • Will not have direct reports but may lead projects and direct activities of a team related to special initiatives or operations.

  • May have responsibility for a project and project budget.

  • May collaborate with external programmers to coordinate delivery of software application.

  • Routine accountability is for technical knowledge and capabilities.

  • Works under minimal supervision, with general guidance from more seasoned consultants.

  • Typically requires 5-7 years of experience.

Required Skills:

  • Minimum 7+ years of experience in Java/J2EE Technologies

  • Minimum 7 years of development experience in Core Java/J2EE Web services (JSP, Servlets, JDBC, JNDI, XML,WSDL, SOAP,REST, EJB, HTML, DHTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, and XML)

  • Open source frameworks and tools (Struts, Spring, Hibernate, Log4J, SLF4J, AJAX, Ant.)

  • Scheduling tools (Autosys), Shell scripts on Linux/AIX, IBM MQ Series, i2 Framework, IDE’s, Eclipse, and IBM RAD

  • Writing SQL Statements, Triggers, and Stored procedures for database transactions in Oracle, SQL server, Cassandra

  • Working with different operation systems (Linux, AIX, Windows)

  • Understanding of the Agile/Lean SDLC

  • Quick learner and self-starter who requires minimal supervision to excel in a dynamic environment

  • Handling critical business applications issues and failure recoveries

  • Troubleshooting various pre and post implementation issues

  • Prior experience working and directing activities of globally distributed teams

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Working knowledge in application design & development

  • Ability to think out of the box to design and implement a new application

  • Self-Driven, Motivated, and Ability to work with Minimum supervision

Desired Skills:

  • Prior knowledge ofOffers/Referrals/Appointmentsuite of applications at the bank will be a plus

  • Bachelor of Science/Engineering degree in Computer Science or related discipline or equivalent experience

  • Working knowledge in application design & development

  • Able to contribute to 1. Automation 2. Causal analysis 3.Develop shared/commonsolutions

  • Able to identify risks and mitigation

  • Comfortable working in a matrix environment
