Performs administrative duties to ensure all patients billed under Article 28 services at Chappaqua Crossing are processed correctly according to payer regulations. Supports clinicians in the provision of patient care through supportive tasks.
Answers telephone calls and greets patients and family members with a friendly, patient-centered approach.
Schedules appointments and maintains a daily schedule for 10 departments.
Creates patient charts for initial evaluation including insurance referrals, prescription and benefit forms to be completed by the patient or clinician.
Reviews referrals for completeness. Contacts insurance companies to identify patient insurance benefits.
Informs patient of his or her financial agreement with the Hospital.
Scans documents into patient medical records.
Coordinates extensive communication between hospital departments and outside agencies.
Assists in training of staff in the use of office equipment and the performance of business tasks.
Performs related duties, as required.
ADA Essential Functions
High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
Three to Five (3-5) years clinical computer system experience
Planetree Spirit, required.
Previous clerical experience in a clinical business environment, required.
Knowledge of medical terminology required.
Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills, required
Ability to anticipate practitioner's needs and work under time constraints.
