Verizon CUCM Principal Engineer in Cary, North Carolina
What you’ll be doing...
As our CUCM Principal Engineer, you will be responsible for the technical design, planning, implementation, and the highest level of performance tuning and recovery procedures for mission critical enterprise systems, custom deployment of multiple, disparate Cisco UC systems, AUTH systems, new Cisco Prime Collaboration, and associated operating systems inside customer data center.
Serving as the technical expert in the area of system administration for complex operating systems.
Recommending the redesign and configuration of operating systems and system applications, as needed based on operational requirements.
Investigating and analyzing feasibility of system requirements and developing system specifications and providing operational project leadership.
Traveling between Fort Bragg and our office in Cary, NC.
What we’re looking for...
You’ll need to have:
Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
Six or more years of relevant work experience.
Experience in Networking.
Eligibility to obtain a U.S. Government Issued Security Clearance or Active Security Clearance.
Even better if you have:
A degree in Computer Science/Engineering/Certification CCVP, CCNP or CCIE certified.
Experience in the following network disciplines (Cisco Video, VoIP, and SIP).
Demonstrated ability to think adaptively and operate quickly in a dynamic financial and business environment.
Strong proven background in troubleshooting Cisco voice and video solutions.
Five or more years of CUCM – VOIP networking experience /technical proficiency in integrating various vendor solutions with Cisco infrastructure supporting branch offices.
Solid understanding of Cisco Prime Collaboration.
Knowledge of LAN/WAN protocols as well as DHCP, DNS, Windows, Red Hat environments.
Solid understanding of LDAP.
Proven ability to handle several projects simultaneously.
Experience with CUCM 10.5.x, Unity voice mail, UCCX 10.6, Cisco 2900/3900, SIP Trunk, SRST, H323, Cisco Jabber, Cisco VCS, TMS collaboration Solutions. Knowledge of Forge Rock Authentication Management is a plus.
Strong documentation skills.
Willingness to help others grow professionally by mentoring Tier 1 and 2 engineers.
