Data Scientist

Key Role:

Work as part of a data science team responsible for developing a data science capability that supports analysis of large data sets and create tailored, repeatable, and scalable approaches for data science processes that range from data preparation to follow-up analysis. Apply expertise in database architecture, middleware, and fundamental user interface design and research and nominate open information sources for data mining to support ongoing analytical efforts. Conduct systems programming and support activities, including writing and revising segments of language code or processing, document developed processes, and assist with the development of training materials designed to teach military intelligence analysts the programming and mathematical facets of data science for developed processes.

Basic Qualifications:

-8+ years of experience with IT systems and software development

-8+ years of experience in DoD with the intelligence community (IC), remote sensing, all-source intelligence, and Air Force ISR

-Experience in working with multiple programming languages, including Python, PHP, Java, and C#

-Ability to perform data collection, configuration, performance, and distribution evaluations for remote sensing data

-Ability to lead and coordinate the development of pattern analysis processes to support advanced analytics requirements

-Ability to produce system analysis approaches to multi-faced modeling activities

-Ability to work as part of a team and independently and multi task in a fast-paced environment

-TS/SCI clearance

-MA or MS degree

-Ability to obtain Security+ Certification

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with identifying observable criteria and metrics to enable big data analytics and proper metadata standards and formats required for integration into external systems

-Experience with Microsoft Office

-Experience with air, space, or Cyberspace Intelligence areas of emphasis in a professional or academic environment

-Ability to learn new technologies

-Ability to provide subject matter expertise to remote sensing data processing chains and the application of new techniques toward the development of a multi-layer, interdisciplinary data repository

-Ability to analyze and synthesize large amounts of complex data into relevant insights effectively

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

-MA or MS degree in CS, Data Science, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Predictive Analytics, Data Mining, Statistics, or a related field
