This team is responsible for Aetnas digital transformation and all digital products; as well as the development and execution of the digital roadmap.

The Director of Services & Domain Engineering works at the leading edge of implementing digital solutions that facilitate the transformation of Aetnas members; driving mission critical application development that fuel our customers. The Director will provide strategic leadership around the building of products that leverage advanced technologies across an onpremise and cloud footprint.
Build the team Seek, hire and retain a strong, collaborative agile team of engineering experts
Motivates team members and probes into technical details
Partner with Product Managers in the engineering of the core products and capabilities that will be leveraged by application development teams and other delivery stakeholders
Deliver high volume and high transaction systems, leveraging broad knowledge of market-leading edge technologies and specialized expertise in programming skills such BPM engines, Python and Java
Manage multiple cross functional skilled teams of engineers that execute on an Agile delivery cadence, delivering services and domain objects within a big data environment
Designs complex, production multi-tenant products using multiple programming languages and technologies to solve complex problems
Collaborates with other product engineering teams to provide technology guidance and requirements to ensure platforms exceed the needs of the organization
Formulate, recommend and execute short and long-term product objectives, balancing ideal architectural approach with practical solution implementation
Acts as a though leader to provide expert technical consultation to senior IT management
10 or more years of progressively complex related experience.
5+ years of experience executing within an Agile framework
5+ years of healthcare experience
3+ years of staff supervision/management experience
3+ years of experience delivering commercially available platforms
Has in-depth knowledge of large scale search applications and building high volume data pipelines
Expert experience implementing complex, enterprise-wide data transformation and processing solutions.
Expert knowledge in Hadoop architecture, HDFS commands and experience designing & optimizing queries against data in the HDFS environment.
Expertise in Java, Python, Hive, Cassandra, Pig, MySQL or NoSQL or similar.
Expert experience with bash shell scripts, UNIX utilities & UNIX Commands.
Expertise in BPM and business rule engines, such as Appian, Pega, or Drools
Proven ability to leverage multiple tools and programming languages to analyze and manipulate large data sets from disparate data sources and build innovative solutions.
Superior ability to communicate technical ideas and results to non-technical clients in written and verbal form.
Superior collaboration and communication skills within and across teams.
Strong problem solving skills and critical thinking ability.
The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Master's degree.
