Verizon Data Surveillance Technician in Bellevue, Washington

What you’ll be doing...

The Data Mediation Operations team is seeking a talented technician to support the network integrity of Verizon’s national data feeds and revenue streams. We are a 24/7/365 Tier 1 shop andNetwork Management responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Proactive network and application monitoring, following established procedures when responding to network and application alarms and events.

  • Perform triage, fault isolation, and remediation of network events

  • Providing technical assistance to external teams.

  • Trouble Ticket management and processing escalations.

  • Communicate technical details and status to customer service centers, technical support organizations and executive management teams.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Three or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree, preferablyin Computer Science or Electronics and three or more years of job-related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Python, bash (or equivalent) scripting, Linux OS; even better if you know Git, Ansible, Grafana

  • Experience in a DevOps setting, driving automation initiatives and process improvements.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of telecommunications equipment, technologies and flow with the ability to isolate a problem

  • Natural curiosity and desire to learn new technologies as well as grow with the team

  • The ability to work well with others and integrate into our team culture of “How may I be of service today?”

  • A sense of ownership around the health of the network and a willingness to drive hard to resolution on issues

  • Ability to clearly document/communicate issues or procedures to a broader audience, and the group.

  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, including excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to generate, drive, and update problem-tracking tickets via multiple systems.

  • Worked with external and internal Verizon organizations coordinating and troubleshooting network events.

  • Ability to provide timely and accurate network information to both management and other groups during network events and major outages.

  • Willingness to work all shifts.
