The Product Strategy and Business Development Manager position represents a key opportunity for Verizon Connect to identify and develop compelling strategies and solutions leveraging multiple Verizon technologies including; Network, Oath Assets, Platforms and Analytics to reach customers in a new way. The positon offers the ability to influence products to drive new revenue opportunities and leverage cutting edge technologies.

Product Strategy and Business Development Manager will do the following:

  • Assist in the evaluation of new solutions and platforms for strategic roadmap.

  • Identify and validate target industry segments, build use cases and complete financial analysis.

  • Engage Verizon Connect teams for potential new use cases and portfolio expansion.

  • Build and validate new solutions requirements.

  • Provide input on new use cases and prioritize based on strategic importance.

  • Drive product GTM strategies and market messaging.

  • Outline solution lifecycle and field support strategy for target solutions.

  • Support executive leadership with technical presentations and demonstrations.

  • Support the development and implementation of marketing segmentation strategies.

  • Participate in channel development strategies to build alterative paths to market.

  • Build strategic internal and external partnerships to advance product development efforts.

  • Identify, acquire and support early adopters.

  • Drive internal and external solution adaption.

  • Manage large customer opportunities to incorporate Verizon Connect products with Verizon media assets, content delivery and platforms.

  • Manage relationships with Verizon Connect OEM teams and build OEM product requirements.

  • Identify and engage potential supplier partners.

  • Remain current on in-vehicle technologies and digital media marketplace.

  • Provide guidance for responses to RFI/RFP/RFQs.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Five years minimum Business Development experience with knowledge of media solutions, platforms, software and strategy experience being desirable.

  • Strong strategic and analytical skills required to build a product market strategy.

  • Financial management skills needed for forecasting, pricing, margin analysis and opportunity validation.

  • Leadership style that is responsive to client needs and changing requirements.

  • The ability to constantly assess the product life cycle and the effectiveness of our strategy, and identify more effective approaches when needed.

  • Knowledge and skills needed to successfully manage client engagements and make decisions that accomplish strategic objectives.

  • Ability to create spreadsheets, analyze data and create highly effective PowerPoint presentations to be shared with executive leadership.

  • A solid knowledge of media solutions and content delivery.

  • A solid knowledge of various transportation related industries

  • Ability to work effectively with others across multiple Verizon teams.

  • Strong experience in product and vendor management.

  • Some experience in B2B/Data Sales or Overlay Sales.

  • Prior experience delivering complex solutions.

  • Ability to travel domestically less than 25% of the time

  • Ability to perform a high-level business and technology assessment, assess industry trends, determine implications in area of responsibilities, and develop near/long-term strategic position for the business.

  • Direct knowledge of media solutions and content delivery methodology.

  • Proven success in engaging executive level customers resulting in multi-year contracts.

  • Ability to work effectively across the business (marketing, product, finance, legal, offer development and other teams), understand customer and partner needs, identify requirements to fill those needs and build a strategy to solve those needs.
