Verizon Operational Excellence Manager in Basking Ridge, New Jersey
What you’ll be doing...
This Process Excellence and Innovation (PE&I) Manager will report into the Director of Process Excellence & Innovation. You will identify and drive Verizon wide initiatives aimed at reducing waste and/or growing revenue. You’ll facilitate strategy sessions for top Verizon Executives and translate those strategies into a portfolio of strategic initiatives. You will be accountable for driving the resulting initiatives through successful completion and for ensuring the promised business value is delivered to the P&L. As a sought after business partner and “truth teller”, you will maintain an open mind and keep an eye on the horizon for emerging business models and technological innovations that can be leveraged by Verizon.
Assisting with the documentation of Verizon’s end to end processes in an effort to illuminate waste reduction and/or revenue growth opportunities.
Ensuring that Verizon best practices are fully leveraged within all strategic initiatives.
Facilitating the creation of multi-year waste reduction and/or revenue growth strategies.
Utilizing red teaming tools and techniques to pressure test strategies.
Translating strategies into objectives, metrics and initiatives.
Managing the initiative pipeline and addressing target shortfalls by identifying additional initiatives.
Promoting the use of internal best practices (lean six sigma, design thinking, agile).
Identifying and incorporating external best practices.
Project managing individual initiatives.
Populating and maintaining initiatives within Verizon’s database.
Supporting the training and coaching of intact project teams.
Performing data collection and analysis.
Leveraging change management best practices to mitigate resistance.
What we’re looking for...
You’ll need to have:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business or related field, or four or more years of work experience.
Six or more years of relevant work experience.
Even better if you have:
MBA or advanced degree.
Proven record of successfully managing executive relationships.
Track record of leading cross functional teams and extracting the best from each team member.
Demonstrated competency in strategy formulation and translation.
Outstanding quantitative and analytical skills.
Lean Six Sigma, Design Thinking and/or Agile certification.
Experience with Change Management best practices.
Project management experience and/or certification.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Track record of handling extremely confidential information appropriately.
Facilitation, training and coaching expertise.
Experience with a tier 1 management consulting organization.
Proven record of managing multiple simultaneous projects on time and under budget.
Experience with zero based budgeting and zero based design.
