Ordnance Systems Engineer

Key Role:

Analyze and apply advanced systems methods, theories, and research techniques to identifying the strategic issues affecting the health of US fuze technology and industrial bases. Lead the integrated product team (IPT)’s efforts to identify, define, and address the highest priority strategic concerns and issues impacting the client community’s ability to meet current and future US and Coalition Warfighter needs. Spearhead DoD IPT top initiatives to develop potential solutions to resolve the strategic concerns and issues of the DoD and US DoD industrial base. Analyze the development and implementation of the annual programmatic process for identifying technology gaps, including soliciting and selecting future research topics and monitoring the technical and fiscal execution of client projects.

Basic Qualifications:

-20+ years of experience with the ordnance systems engineering activities of DoD, including research, development, test, and evaluation (RDT&E) of ordnance programs

-Experience as a technical expert or leader in the Joint DoD community

-Knowledge of the issues affecting US technology and acquisition bases

-Ability to demonstrate expertise in fuzing

-Secret clearance required

-BS degree in Engineering

Additional Qualifications:

-Ability to think strategically and comprehend the tactical details of the issue

-Ability to work independently to develop recommended methodologies or approaches to resolving strategic or tactical issues, consolidating government and industry perspectives, and presenting a recommended way forward

-Ability to lead or mentor a team on the technical and political aspects of interfacing with a client at the highest levels

-Ability to listen to and comprehend the different perspectives of an issue and make appropriate decisions and recommendations

-Ability to pay strict attention to detail and multi-task

-Possession of excellent leadership skills

-BS degree in EE, Mechanical Engineering, or System Engineering preferred
