LAN Technician, Mid

Key Role:

Perform day-to-day computer network operations, including hardware or software support, plan, design, and implement data connectivity for local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN) systems, conduct network wiring plans and LAN or WAN hardware or software purchases, and conduct system installation, backup, maintenance, problem-solving, and network or remote connectivity hardware or software support. Evaluate the technical feasibility of proposed system solutions and facilitate the maintenance of network user documentation, including hardware or software applications, support logs, and other information. Conduct research, recommend network and server hardware and software solutions for large complex networks, and monitor, analyze, troubleshoot, or evaluate hardware, software, and other network problems. Analyze, maintain, and implement network support and archiving procedures, implement and manage network policies, procedures, and standards, and enforce security procedures. This position is located in Arlington Heights, IL.

Basic Qualifications:

-18+ months of experience as an on-the-job network technician

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-HS diploma or GED

-CompTIA Security+ Certification

-CompTIA Network+ Certification

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with VMware preferred

-Knowledge of Risk Management Framework (RMF) and applicable regulations

-Ability to perform systems administration tasks

-Secret clearance

-BA or BS degree

-VMware Certification
