This role directs, guides and oversees the Engineering activities in Virtual Apps Delivery Services (VADS). The position is key in providing technical direction and responsible for building and/or expanding Citrix platforms. Initiates, plans, and executes projects (simple to complex), leading project teams (virtual, matrix) to success and applying effective project management processes, including management of stakeholder expectations, communications, and scope management.
At an Associate Director level, a portion of your time will be spent with Senior Leaders, and peers for a variety of engagements. You therefore be highly motivated, a good communicator you have the ability to convey complex technical content in business language to board level. You’ll also be responsible for managing teams and delivering high quality work.
Essential Functions of the Job:
Manage a global, Virtual team and deliver quality services to the customer on time.
Responsible for Customer Relationship and be the single point of contact for global stakeholders
Budget responsibility & budget planning
Personnel responsibility (counseling, training, hiring)
Service/RoadMap planning for Virtual App technologies
Service and Service Offering Lifecycle Management
Responsible for the successful operation and continuous improvement of services
Responsible for Service and Service Offering pricing
Vendor and Supplier relationship management (mainly Citrix)
Responsible for License management (Citrix XenDesktop, Symantic Ghost Solution Suite, Remote Desktop Services)
License negotiations (together with Procurement)
Incident, Service Request and Change Management trending and reporting based on Service Now metrics
Incident and Escalation Management (e.g. P1S1)
Define global standards and guidelines for platform components and related technologies
Engineer Lead and responsibility for the intake of new applications
Drive the design of business line applications to enable optimum performance
Project Management responsibilities for platform related initiatives
Responsible for Supplier Connectivity related initiatives (e.g. IBM, TCS, Microland etc.) to ensure flawless and performant connectivity for Global Service Desk personnel
Analytical/Decision Making Responsibilities:
Very good knowledge in Project Management methodologies
Proactive approach to identification and articulation of issues, and resolution & documentation
Prioritization of personal and team workloads to best meet organizational objectives
Knowledge and Skills Requirements :( Describe the knowledge or skills needed to perform this job; these may be technical, managerial or behavioral in nature.)
Excellent knowledge and expertise in Citrix XenApp, Citrix XenDesktop, Remote Desktop Services, Netscaler Access Gateway
Practical exposure to Virtual Apps and Cloud Technologies
Excellent communications skills - strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work effectively with external vendors and internal clients at varying executive levels.
Flexibility to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity, and rapid change based on client needs
- A bachelor's degree (computer science, engineering, accounting, finance preferred) or equivalent work experience.
12+ years of relevant experience
3 years of IT management and/or BA leadership a plus
Agile experience preferred
