Defense Systems Acquisition Specialist, Mid
Analyze, assess, and coordinate acquisition program documentation, including acquisition strategy, acquisition program baseline, and acquisition decision memorandums and participate with integrated product teams to provide acquisition expertise regarding all statutory, regulatory, and policy updates impacting acquisition documentation requirements. Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including resource sponsor, requirements officer, and operational test authority to ensure successful program execution and obtain concurrence on acquisition way-ahead. Assist government procurement agencies with defining proposals, including RFPs, and qualifying vendors. Apply knowledge of the defense acquisition process to support clients in the analysis and improvement of acquisition process policy and procedures. Devise innovative strategies for deploying and implementing new acquisition policy initiatives and measuring the effectiveness of implementation. Use quantitative analytical techniques to assess system acquisition process issues and develop risk reduction or mitigation approaches for improving acquisition or program planning, control, and execution.
-5 years of experience in a professional work environment
-2 years of experience with acquisition processes and programs
-Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FARs), the DoD’s process for acquisition programs, and the various program reviews required for acquisition approval
-BA or BS degree in Business, Management, or Engineering
-Ability to provide subject matter acquisition expertise regarding program and project planning activities for the Cooperative Threat Reduction (CTR) program
-Ability to provide program management expertise to support the execution of programs and projects through the acquisition lifecycle
-Ability to provide expertise to advise and assist the government with the acquisition planning, execution, and management of contract and intergovernmental actions
-Ability to provide workforce development and acquisition-related training to US government personnel, including program management, acquisition planning, risk analysis, requirements generation, contracting processes, and contract management
-Ability to assist teams or advise project teams in developing acquisition documentation per client acquisition policy
