Purpose

Contributes to the overall success of the Program Management and Learning Delivery Department in Global Learning and Development globally ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

Accountabilities

  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.

  • Contributes to the development of learning strategies to support business units’ objectives across the bank, by:

  • Providing insight in relation to the implementation, communication, and evaluation plan

  • Actively participating in the performance consulting conversations and subsequent meetings with business partners

  • Maintaining close relationship with Senior Managers Learning , Digital Hub and Operations learning groups

  • Manage the implementation of learning initiatives following approved learning strategies, by:

  • Creating detailed execution plan and timelines

  • Assigning project tasks to Assistant Manager, Program Management using work management tool

  • Conducting regular meetings with project stakeholders to provide updates and ensure all milestones in the plan are met

  • Managing vendor relationships

  • Working with learning partners across the Bank and support units to ensure seamless delivery of initiatives

  • Liaising with LMS support team to determine best approach to set up learning program in me@scotiabnk

  • Reporting on course completion and evaluation results highlighting areas of opportunity and recommendations for improvement

  • Develop and deliver instructor-led learning programs for medium to large projects to meet business units learning and performance needs, by:

  • Designing and developing instructor led programs following approved methodology (ADDIE, Agile)

  • Building strong business relationships and maintaining open communication with SME’s to ensure content accuracy

  • Conducting train the trainer sessions as required

  • Maintain an awareness of emerging trends and best practices in Learning, by:

  • Liaising with learning peers, both within and outside of Scotiabank to ensure knowledge remains current

  • Sharing best practices with learning teams and partners

  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.

  • Champions a high performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment; communicating vison/values/business strategy and managing succession and development planning for the team.

Education / Experience/ Other Information

  • Post secondary education: University degree or equivalent experience; Diploma and/or Certificate in Adult Education

  • Working knowledge of learning design cycle (ADDIE)

  • Experience in design and development of learning solutions, including needs analysis, objectives definition, course design and evaluation

  • Technical knowledge of learning development methods (eLearning development, online collaboration, etc.)
