Job Summary:

The Operations Manager works closely with the GigNow Team Leader to ensure that all initiatives move forward according to plan. The individual is accountable for implementing appropriate operational milestones, and leading and providing consistent operational support, guidance, strategy, and processes for the GigNow project. The individual may also lead strategic projects supporting the venture and acts as a liaison with key stakeholders across the firm.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a Chief of Staff/Operations Leader to the GigNow Team Leader

  • Ensure GigNow team operates according to plan and delivers on schedule; troubleshoot as needed

  • Lead strategic projects

  • Provide executive visibility to project status, issues, risks, costs, etc.; produce integrated life cycle dashboard reports to show budget versus actual, projected spend, program/project delivery

  • Serve as liaison between the GigNow team, other Global Innovation teams (e.g. data science, AI, et al), key business units and internal EY operations (i.e. IT, procurement, HR) to ensure alignment and collaboration on key initiatives and decisions

  • Develop, track and report high level project metrics

  • Assist leadership in day to day activities including running team meetings, providing status updates, high priority sourcing

  • Makes key decisions and suggestions (with appropriate input) based on a solid understanding of firm and business objectives, identifies and produces needed analysis and builds and procures appropriate professional experience/knowledge

  • The individual in this position must establish a plan, determine the priorities and prescribe and implement the processes needed to achieve the required objectives

  • The person is likely to be faced with problems and demanding deadlines routinely and needs to be able to manage conflicting priorities and tight deadlines through creative problem solving and operational dexterity

  • Identifying creative alternatives, digging into issues to surface core pain points and being persistent is a core requirement for this role

  • Anticipates problems before they occur, defines the problem or risk; identifies possible causes; works with team to identify solutions, selects and implements most appropriate solution

  • Identifies potential points of contention for missed deliverables; creates and implements strategy to mitigate shortfalls in timeline and budget

  • No direct supervisory responsibilities

  • Receives general direction as to goals and objectives. Most work is done independently and involves partnering with others

  • Work is reviewed only for results obtained

  • Strong influencing skills are required to work with other departments or other area leaders

To qualify, candidates must have:

  • Strong business acumen; able to understand the business implications of various approaches

  • Ability to make timely decisions and translates strategy into action

  • Strong operations skills

  • Ability to get things done

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to summarize and communicate at all levels of the organization

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to collaborate & influence; able to facilitate alignment without compromising principles

  • Advanced MS Office skills including MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint

  • Analytic skills relative to business cases & budget reconciliation, etc.

  • Relationship building skills and comfortable interacting with multiple levels in an organization

  • May include occasional domestic and international travel

  • We are a distributed business and often work across time zones and across national borders and language lines

  • College/University degree required; advanced degree preferred

  • Approximately 7-10 years prior work experience in business or operations management or related technical field

  • Approximately 3-5 years finance experience; managing a business or project budget
