IBM Senior Product Marketer, Data Science and Advanced Analytics in SAN FRANCISCO, California

The Data Science Marketing team in the IBM Hybrid Cloud business is looking for a rockstar product marketer to join the team. IBM’s fast growing data science portfolio of products is oriented towards data scientists, data analysts and data engineers. We offer a startup-like environment based in the data science hub of San Francisco within a high-growth and industry-leading business that includes Watson, cloud, cognitive. If you have a deep understanding of advanced analytics and leading tools like SPSS or SAS, and want to work with the team that is building next generation data science tools this role is ideal for you. This role will lead the go to market strategy for IBM Advanced Analytics. You will have a deep understanding of the analyst or statistician who uses tools like SPSS to drive business insights. You will understand how the broader data science team functions in companies, who the different participants are, the challenges they face, the business problems they solve, the tools they use, and how they buy. You understand how the analyst and data science worlds are converging as data insights become the competitive asset that companies need to disrupt or be disrupted. You will focus on reaching the practitioner and buyers with the right messages and content, and how to build those into compelling marketing offers and programs. You will be responsible for driving IBM's brand awareness amongst this target audience. At IBM, you will be backed with a broad cross functional team including product management, campaign managers, sales engineers and beyond, with data science being one of the emerging growth markets that are driving the transformation of the company. Along with knowing the buyers and users of SPSS, you will be instrumental in creating and defining content and programs to reach and engage them on digital and in-person channels. You understand the worlds of enterprise data science/advanced analytics and how to bring these together. You will be an advocate and SME for SPSS, looked to as a product expert, working closely with the product management team. Specific responsibilities include

  • Product messaging for go to market, audience, competitive positioning

  • Sales enablement support including pitch decks, training decks, cheat sheets, sales scripts, demos

  • Content creation and strategy to engage the buyers via online, meet ups, webinars, blogs, demos and more, working with the content team and OM and developer SME’s.

  • Audience advocate: work with portfolio marketing to understand, define, create buyer profiles and with campaign managers to target them

  • Spread your wisdom as a SME, author articles and speak at conferences

  • Deep understanding of the competitive landscape

DPT-2

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field such as Computer Science, Statistics, Math

  • Intimate understanding of advanced analytics products; and the business analyst, data science community and its needs

  • Lead by influence a large group of people from different parts of the business, including other business units

  • Demonstrated presentation and writing skills

  • Ability to drive process and enact change in a complex global organization
