Job Description:

Responsible for developing, enhancing, modifying and/or maintaining applications in the Global Markets environment. Software developers design, code, test, debug and document programs s well as support activities for the corporate systems architecture. Employees work closely with business partners in defining requirements for system applications. Employees are expected to have in-depth capital markets product knowledge, and manage a high level of risk. Employees typically have in-depth knowledge of development tools and languages. Is clearly recognized as a content expert by peers. Responsible for day to day supervision for a small team of associates; provides coaching and input into the performance management process. Typically requires 5-7 years of applicable experience. This job code is only to be used for associates supporting Capital Markets.


• Provide leadership to design, and build of Big Data platform

• Collaborate with customer engagement and analytics delivery leadership in building the Analytics Innovation Center

• Possess direct global IT supplier management as well as strong technically

• Develop and communicate platform strategy and roadmap to IT and business leadership, drive a roadmap that aligns with business and IT priorities

• Work closely with solution delivery team to provide guidance in industrializing analytical solutions on the Big Data platform

• Guide data management standards around data security, quality, privacy, and lineage

• Collaborate with external platform and application vendors to establish, maintain and augment the big data platform

• Establish and ensure adherence to coding and metadata standards and guidelines

• Define and report on metrics to assess Big Data platform performance

• Integrate various applications and tools on common Big Data platform

Key Competencies:

• Experience in architecting and developing cutting edge Big Data platforms

• A strong technical background in conceptualizing reference architecture to maintain consistency with enterprise goals

• An excellent understanding, and preferably production experience, with Big Data tools (e.g. Azure/Hadoop/Spark/Hive/HortonWorks)

• A strong understanding of the business benefits of Big Data platforms, and an ability to translate that to stakeholders

• Experience with data warehousing, algorithms, data structures and graph algorithms

Job Description


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field

  • 10+ years for experience in Information Technology

  • 3-5 years of leadership experience in Big Data technologies and platform implementations

  • 3-5 years of experience and excellent understanding of production with the following Big Data tools – Azure, Hadoop and Spark

  • 3-5 years of experience managing BD delivery of Big Data processes and analytics

  • Sound influence skills

  • Strong business acumen

  • Highly accountable

  • Process improvement/change agent/transformation skills

  • Excellent communications skills, written and orally that will aid in creating and fostering strong business relationships with IT suppliers

  • A record of success leading multiple projects


  • Master’s degree is preferred

  • 5 years of experience with Finance and Banking

  • Matrixed management skills, including working across organizational boundaries

  • 3-5 years of experience and excellent understanding of production with the following Big Data tools – Hive and HortonWorks
