Coordinates a variety of decontamination, sterilization, packaging, inventory and distribution tasks according to established procedures and techniques. Ensures all requisitions have been filled accurately and completely.
Coordinates instrument processing, preparation and packaging, sterilization, and quality insurance activities.
Assists in prioritizing and assigning work based on workflow fluctuations.Participates in orientation and ongoing training of sterile processing staff.
Monitors and ensures case carts and related supplies are distributed to clinical areas within the hospital.
Serves as a liaison between Central Services and customer departments to coordinate activities and resolving issues, as needed.
Monitors inventory and facilitates ordering of stock/non-stock supplies.
Adheres to department policies and procedures and related regulatory standards in the performance of duties.
Documents and maintains records of daily activities according to department policies and procedures.
Participates in department quality control programs and in-service training, as required.
Performs related duties, as required.
High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
Sterile processing certification (CRCST or CSPD), required.
Minimum of two (2) years progressively responsible sterile processing experience, required.
Ability to lift/carry 25 pounds, required. Manual dexterity, ability to stand, bend, lift and/or reach for extended periods of time, required.
Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbally and in writing) and follow oral and/or written instructions, required.
