Creditor Insurance Distribution is responsible for expanding the bank’s capacity for Creditor Insurance sales.

The role of the Senior Regional Insurance Manager (Sr. RIM) is critical in capturing the full potential for Creditor Insurance sales through direct (the retail and small business branch network) and indirect distribution channels (Home Financing Solutions (HFS), Scotia Mortgage Authority (SMA), & third party Mortgage Brokers).

As a key regional resource for Creditor Insurance, the Senior RIM works closely with the Region/Districts and continually seeks opportunities for improving Creditor Insurance sales results through sales leadership, training, coaching, relationship building and management engagement.

The Senior RIM contributes to the success of Creditor Insurance Distribution by developing and executing on sales strategies within the assigned Region or Territory/ and channel.

Key Accountabilities

  1. Assist in developing and executing a regional business plan for the Scotiabank Retail and Small Business Distribution Channel that results in a high level of knowledge and comfort among the Branch sales force (FA's, UB's, SBA's) and Branch Managers of the creditor protection products offered and their benefits to customers.

  2. Coach, train, and motivate Branch Retail and Small Business staff through presentations, workshops and coaching sessions.

  3. Act as an effective, professional resource, providing expert and timely assistance to Branch sales teams, Branch Management and District leadership, including DVPs. This includes daily seminars and sales meetings and coaching sessions (approx 12 – 15 per week), plus participation in local client information/appreciation nights and Regional and District events.

  4. Act as a primary field resource for all of the creditor protection products, with the primary emphasis on the Retail and Small Business Distribution channel.

  5. Work collaboratively with the existing team of Senior Regional Insurance Managers dedicated to Branch and Alternate distribution within Insurance Canada and all relevant stakeholders.

  6. Contribute to regional/territorial sales goals and cost controls through effective liaison and partnership with the assigned channel partners.

  7. Assess relevant data and information to implement regional sales strategies, identify business opportunities and provide input and assistance in resolving impediments to business growth. Based on input from the field, contribute ideas and tactics back to Creditor Insurance Distribution Executive Offices.

Functional Competencies

  • Significant sales experience (3-5 plus years) in the financial services industry

  • Strong sales management, relationship management and marketing skills

  • Strong sales coaching and persuasive presentation/facilitation skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to disseminate key ideas and information to sales staff in a simple and effective manner

  • Proven ability to communicate effectively and build strong partnerships with management and sales staff

  • Highly motivated self-starter who can be effective with minimal day-to-day supervision

  • Thorough understanding of insurance and financial planning concepts

  • Strong knowledge of the Scotiabank Home Financing Solutions channel sales processes.

  • Excellent knowledge of branch sales and services processes (i.e. C.E.M. & TotalView)

  • PFP, CFP, LLQP, AMP are a benefit
