Brokerage Technology is looking for a senior Application System Engineer (Tech Lead) for the Advice Services team. The selected candidate will be responsible for technical leadership and expertise in production support, maintenance and project delivery for advice and referral related applications and initiatives. This position will also be integral into long-term technical transformation of existing portal-based applications from the current architecture into new architectural patterns: specifically, User Experience (UX), Single Page Application (SPA), Business Process Management (BPM) and Service Oriented Architecture (SOA). The position will provide critical leadership to both domestic and international application development and support teams.

Candidate will lead technical direction for the transformation of legacy vertical desktop applications from the current architecture into new architectural patterns: specifically, User Experience (UX), Single Page Application (SPA), Business Process Management (BPM) and Service Oriented Architecture (SOA).

Candidate will interact with multiple development teams both on and offshore, providing full stack application architecture guidance and development assistance. Candidate will act as a technical mentor to programming staff in coding, testing, and implementation processes and will work closely with Technology Managers and Business Partners in prioritization of projects and sizing assessment to include cost and effort.

Candidate will work on the most complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires evaluation of various factors. Additionally, will plan, perform and act as the escalation point for the most complex platform designs, coding and testing while leading the most complex multiple modeling, simulations and analysis efforts. Candidate will be asked to lead troubleshooting related to production incidents during business disruptions related to applications owned by the team. Candidate must work on-call, as assigned for Production Support duties related to the team.

Candidate must possess thorough understanding of modern web technology, tools, and best practice technical design techniques. Additionally, must possess the ability to translate complex technical designs and issues into business terminology and communicate with business stakeholders at various levels. Must have virtual leadership experience with ability to effectively drive results, provide feedback/direction, manage and build relationships with leaders and team members in a geographically dispersed team environment.

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of application development and implementation experience

  • 7+ years of .net experience

  • 2 + years of JavaScript Frameworks experience (jQuery, Ext JS, Kendo UI and/or Angular JS)
