Wells Fargo Analytic Consultant 2 in Minneapolis, Minnesota

This position will support the operational Data & Reporting Team in the Investment Contact Center (ICC) Operations organization within Wealth & Investment Management (WIM). The team is responsible for developing the MIS infrastructure, executing against data-intensive operational processes and delivering reporting/business intelligence in support of the ICC and key business partners. Responsible for performing assigned analyses and projects to solve a variety of business issues for the ICC business teams, including near real-time monitoring of operational performance. In addition, coordinates data-focused project activities across a geographically-dispersed team, ensuring accurate documentation of project status, issues, milestones, etc. Works with users to define business requirements and analytical needs; identifies and recommends potential data sources; compiles/mines data from a variety sources; Responds to requests for specific, customized reports. Ensures adherence to data management regulations and policies. Manage multiple projects simultaneously and support other related activities as assigned.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Delivers ad-hoc analyses in support of requests from business partners and operational decision-making;

  • Designs, builds and maintains recurring online reports of operational data and metrics;

  • Integrates data from multiple sources – establishes new data connections and works to maintain existing connections;

  • Provides data-related consulting services on key projects and initiatives impacting our business partners;

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of reporting experience, analytics experience, or a combination of both; or a BS/BA degree or higher in a quantitative field such as applied math, statistics, engineering, physics, accounting, finance, economics, econometrics, computer sciences, or business/social and behavioral sciences with a quantitative emphasis and 2+ years of reporting experience, analytics experience, or a combination of both

Desired Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Experience designing and optimizing complex SQL queries involving table joins and correlated sub-queries on large scale data tables

  • ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) Programming experience

  • Ability to research, compile, and perform complex analysis on critical operational data

  • Advanced Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, LiveMeeting and SharePoint) skills

  • Superior project management skills including the ability to handle multiple projects concurrently

  • Ability to work effectively in a virtual team environment

  • Ability to interact with integrity and a high level of professionalism with all levels of team members and management

  • Knowledge and understanding of financial services industry: wealth management, brokerage, or retirement

  • Experience working with changing priorities and deadlines
