Bank of America Model & Strategy Development Project Lead – Client Underwriting and Protection in Jacksonville, Florida

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing multiple projects, challenging existing processes, and making recommendations to enhance both internal and external routines to facilitate the execution of model and strategy innovation.

  • Collaboration with strategy, modeling, business enablement and technology partners

  • Collaboration with Credit Risk, Legal & Compliance, Model Risk Management, Audit, and other governance and control partners

  • Ability to develop and communicate business case, execution plans, progress updates and other key information to stakeholders

Required Skills:

  • 5+ years professional experience (financial banking/industry related experience)

  • 2+ years of project management with end to end responsibilities of complex enterprise level projects, including the DMAIC and AGILE processes

  • Demonstrated ability to drive insights and inform recommendations/strategies from data analysis (e.g., financial modeling, cost / profitability analysis (P&L business drivers) and risk assessment)

  • Previous credit experience and knowledge of credit policies and procedures

  • Strong analytical, logical reasoning, problem solving skills

  • Strong knowledge of statistics and data mining techniques

  • Ability to build a workplace culture that is capable of executing change to meet business objectives

  • Proven ability to lead and consult both vertically and horizontally with Senior Executives and key partners

  • Strong communication skills - written and verbal; able to influence/challenge and negotiate to keep all parties engaged in the process; hold others accountable without direct supervision

  • Demonstrated ability creating compelling written presentations that articulate business strategy and objectives

  • Proficient in MS Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Desired Skills:

  • 3+ years relevant experience in financial banking strategy role; working knowledge of the process and tools used for the development, validation, implementation, and documentation of credit risk strategies scoring models

  • Experience with data mining tools: SAS, SQL, CHAID, etc

  • Fundamental knowledge of technology platforms and databases

  • Demonstrated results in leading a team of professionals and growing new talent

  • Prior experience in developing strategies and/or credit criteria

  • Bachelors degree in business, math, statistics, economics or related quantitative discipline
