The Africa social media specialist will be responsible for creating, and manage all published content (images, video and written) across all social media channels for EY in Africa. This role is responsible for developing social media strategies linked to key campaigns, and also reviews and edits all content for English-language Africa country sites. The role is further responsible for design related to supporting the social media activity and will also work with the digital editor to promote the EY Africa app.
The role is based in Sandton, South Africa and forms part of the Africa Brand, Marketing & Communications team, which is responsible for external brand and communications, design, digital communication, events, thought leadership, alumni programme and internal communication. The Brand, Marketing and Communication team forms part of Accounts & Business Development (ABD) in Core Business Services.
The Africa region is one of the largest and most diverse businesses in EY and is made up of four service lines: Assurance, Advisory, Tax and Transaction Advisory Services.
Essential Functions of the Job:
Build on and manage EY in Africa social media channels, which includes increasing traffic/SOE to the EY in Africa app.
Writes, edits, reviews and approves all South Africa-based digital external content before publishing, with an emphasis on thought leadership and digital media best practices, which includes the EY Africa app and all social media channels for EY in Africa.
Must be able to design (photo/video/text), presentation and communication skills.
Be able to drive social media from events
Develops social media strategies in line with business expectations and reviews accordingly to key projects
Develops and maintains relationships with brand, marketing and communication stakeholders in South Africa and African regions.
Analyzes metrics to determine the effectiveness of the content and acts on these to improve engagement rates.
Manages the social media editorial calendar and workflow process to confirm all South African and English-language African work is properly prioritized, scheduled, edited, produced and published efficiently.

- Three to five year degree in English, Communications or Journalism
Five years or more of online editorial experience
Five years or more experience working in a professional services firm
Three years of experience using a CMS (Content Management System) for updating digital properties, or familiarity with basic html
Must have a personal passion for social media and knowledge of social media Influencers
Be able to demonstrate ability to manage different social media platform – including Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook and Instragram
Must demonstrate expertise in live tweeting at events
