The Detailed Scheduler will expand the monthly (or weekly) planned production requirements coming out of the MPS into daily buckets, allocating the different product SKU’s onto the individual shop floor work centers in a way to make the most efficient use of time and resources. He or she will provide proactive, clear, concise and accurate information to the internal and external stakeholders regarding issues, potential delays and deviations to the schedule. The positive outcome of the scheduler ensures that the products are available within the given time tolerances set by Regional Planning, whilst simultaneously assisting that plant conversion costs are favorably impacted through the optimization of production runs and sequences.

  • Allocates the net production requirements to the dedicated manufacturing work centers respecting both customer and production needs

  • Ensures that materials and equipment are available for production according to the schedule timelines

  • Maintains the accuracy of the schedule, notifying the key stakeholders proactively in case of issues, unforeseen or foreseen constraints

  • Provides recommendations to Operations to adjust resources, work overtime or subcontract work to balance overall manufacturing capacity

  • Tracks and reports capacity hours, schedule attainment and past due by machine

  • Organizes and coordinates weekly (and ad hoc) meetings with the Production supervisors to validate the new production schedule

  • Resolves capacity related manpower and material shortage problems in a timely manner.

  • Works with Managers to develop potential solutions to improve production performance and efficiency

  • Provides alternative scheduling scenarios to assist with Customer Service and misses in manufacturing.

  • Leverages an understanding of leading practices to drive continuous improvement in Detailed scheduling concepts through the use of systems and cross functional processes

  • Knowledge of Material Requirements Planning (MRP), rough cut capacity planning (RCCP), and Master Production Scheduling (MPS)

  • Working knowledge of operations and manufacturing processes, requirements and restrictions/constraints

  • Strong relationship/partnership with operations and manufacturing

  • Leverages an understanding of Early Warning Indicators to drive efforts for early supply issue identification and Short Term Exception Management (STEM) / Rapid Response Team

  • Demonstrates an understanding of the implications of incorrect master data on the outcomes of the production planning process

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required, a focused degree in business, supply chain, engineering or related field is preferred

  • A minimum of four (4) years manufacturing, planning, and/or supply chain related experience is required

  • Understanding of planning process is required

  • Proficiency with ERP System and Microsoft Office tools is required

  • Basic knowledge of master data elements and function within ERP system is required

  • Ability to influence and experience with change management is preferred

  • Must be able to demonstrate initiative and lateral thinking to problem solve is preferred

  • Strong analytical, time management, and organizational skills is preferred

  • Multi-tasking, prioritization, and a sense of urgency is preferred

  • Strong decision-making and communication skills is preferred

  • Ability to travel up to 5% of the time domestically
