EY’s Tax Quality and Risk Management team supports the Tax practices of the UK&I Region and Financial Services business in the UK&I. The team is led by one partner and two directors (based in London) and includes a number of senior managers/managers and other professionals. The team supports the various business units on a wide range of Quality and Risk Management matters.
We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic Manager, possibly Senior Manager, ideally to be based in Manchester, to lead on providing Tax Quality and Risk Management support to our UK&I teams in Manchester Liverpool, Leeds, Hull & Birmingham and a degree of travel between these offices will be required.
Your key responsibility will be to assist client engagement teams with any quality and risk management issues they may have to enable the teams to deliver exceptional client service within EY’s quality and risk management framework. You will help promote key Tax Quality initiatives across the offices which could include providing local training, assisting with internal quality reviews, assessment of new service offerings and supporting business initiatives.

A reasonable level of Quality and Risk Management technical knowledge and experience
Balancing of priorities to enable the successful delivery of tax initiatives, ensuring policy excellence and a regulatory approach;
Being the day to day contact for internal queries;
Working with a wide range of individuals from Partners to junior colleagues;
Ensuring a high level of client service;
To qualify for the role you must have
An enthusiastic attitude and flexible approach to work;
A strong focus on quality;
A desire to learn and absorb additional Quality and Risk Management technical knowledge
A thorough understanding of UK tax issues is preferable but not essential, as would a professional qualification, ACA / ACCA / CA / CTA;
Experience of working in a professional environment
Excellent written and oral communication skills;
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships with different teams;
Project management experience.
