EY’s Personal Tax Centre provides personal taxation services to thousands of financial services clients both in the UK and overseas, dealing with the UK tax affairs of employees, directors, partners and very high net worth and high profile individuals.

The opportunity

Continuing expansion means that we have a number of opportunities for Trainee Tax Assistants to join our teams in Newcastle to start in June/July 2017. Relevant experience is preferred but not necessary as all shortlisted candidates will be required to complete online testing. The testing will take 20 minutes. If you are shortlisted, the online test will be emailed to you, and you will be required to complete the testing within 5 days of receiving (please check your Inbox and Junk folders).

Your key responsibilities

The role will require you to manage an allocated portfolio of work which will involve the preparation of tax returns & dealing with the compliance of tax processing. You will be expected to build & maintain client interaction through written & verbal communication. There will also be contact with HM Revenue offices, other third parties & collaboration will be necessary with other EY office within the UK & abroad.

To qualify for the role you must have

  • You must be eligible to work in the UK.

  • Successfully pass the online assessment

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Knowledge of personal tax regulations

  • A relevant degree or professional qualification
