Job Description:

The PMO is responsible for underwriting and structuring of straightforward credit transactions, primarily to existing clients with significant guidance from the Sr PMO/CPO/CPM. The PMO works on renewals/extensions, new exposures of lower complexity to existing clients and loan modifications (covenant waivers, amendments). The PMO also participates in the internal credit approval process and reviews and assists in the preparation of Term Sheets. The PMO reviews loan documentation and participates in the closing process including coordinating with Credit Services and involvement in documentation/closing discussions. The PMO acts as a general market resource at the discretion of the CPM for maintenance and monitoring responsibilities on smaller/straightforward credit relationships and performs such tasks as independently preparing and approving Financial Account Summary reports and under direction of credit team, make recommendations that mitigate risks or remedy exceptions. They deliver financial, industry, economic and other analysis to facilitate decision making, while also ensuring adherence to credit policies, guidelines, and applicable regulatory requirements. They report to the Credit Products Manager (CPM) and partner closely with CPOs and Credit Products Analysts (CPA). CREB PMOs have similar job responsibilities but do not typically perform the underwriting function. General qualifications include: a BS/BA degree, credit trained and 18+ months experience and have a general understanding of financial analysis, structuring and underwriting. Also necessary are strong communication and solid analytical/technical skills.

Job Description: Portfolio Management Officer - Commercial Real Estate:

The Portfolio Management Officer (PMO) is a client-facing role within the Credit Products group of the Commercial Real Estate Banking (CREB) group of Bank of America Merrill Lynch. As part of the CREB client team, the Credit Products group is responsible for the credit analysis, underwriting, documentation and origination of commercial real estate credit exposure. Credit facilities include bridge, term, and construction loans nationwide for commercial real estate developers and investors, additionally delivering treasury, hedging, and investment banking solutions to clients. CREB is an industry leader in commercial real estate lending with over 500 employees and $40 billion of committed loans.

The primary responsibility of the PMO is the ongoing analysis and monitoring of the existing debt book. This includes analysis of both project performance, sponsor financial capacity, covenant compliance, and other ongoing monitoring functions. Responsible for continually formulating and defending sponsor and facility risk ratings to upper management. Leads annual sponsor financial analysis and guarantor risk rating. The PMO interfaces with external clients for financial reporting requirements and analysis and to complete modifications and extensions of existing loans.

The PMO reports to the Credit Products Manager who reports to the Senior Credit Products Manager in an identified Market area. The PMO interfaces with the rest of the client team, including the Client Manager, Credit Products Officer and Credit Support Associate, assists the Credit Support Associate with financial statement collection and tracking as needed and manages external reporting processes to the regulators. Responsible for being knowledgeable of and adhering to all Bank policies, procedures, and regulations.
