Global Technology Control Practices (GTCP) conducts oversight and governance of firm-wide technology controls including the Risk assessment framework, regulatory compliance and technology policies and standards. GTCP is responsible for delivering a well controlled, resilient, compliant and secure technology environment through proactive risk and controls management and an embedded self sustaining controls culture. As a first line of defense function, GTCP works in partnership with key technology stakeholders to deliver continuous improvement of our technology controls environment. GTCP provides the framework, methodology, tools and expertise to help design and embed a robust world class controls environment.
Risk Identification Lead
One area of responsibility within GTCP is to identify significant and emerging technology risks across Global Technology and coordinate with all LOB technology groups and technology operational risk office (ORO) to ensure global as well as LOB specific risks are identified, reviewed and approved by senior management.
The selected candidate will lead the risk identification process including all coordination aspects with ORO and the LOBs, specifically:
Identify risks (e.g. core, idiosyncratic, strategic and emerging risks) that arise from technology activities for risks in all parts of the risk taxonomy
Lead the discussion of new risks during BAU business meetings
Assess the impact of risks on the firm’s revenue, capital, liquidity, reputation, recovery, regulatory and clients under severely adverse conditions, leveraging BAU processes, analytics and reports when possible.
Capture and document assessed risks into the Material Risk Inventory (MRI) and ensure alignment with the Firmwide Risk Register.
Support development of Technology and Cyber Scenarios for inclusion in Firmwide Capital analysis.
Partner with COR to maintain the Firmwide Risk Taxonomy and participate in the COR Firmwide Risk Taxonomy change management process.
On a quarterly basis, review and confirm changes in material risks during LOB Risk Committees
On an annual basis, review the entire set of material risks in LOB Risk Committees
Support creation of a Culture & Conduct deck on a monthly and quarterly basis that outlines Conduct specific risk events for review in GTOC BCC.
Ten years of risk and control experience, ideally in a financial services environment.
Knowledge of regulatory impacts and expectations affecting the financial industry.
Security Certifications i.e. CISSP, CISA, CRISC or Technical Degree (Preferred)
Working knowledge of JPMC RCSA or equivalent process.
Designed and executed IT control self-assessments (Preferred).
Strong analytical, interpretive and problem solving skills in identifying risk and evaluating its impact.
Ability to effectively communicate technical risks to all levels of management in both verbal and written formats
