Output Systems (OS) is responsible for the delivery and support of Customer Communications for Complex Statements, Letters, Checks, & Plastics fulfillment. OS provides technology support across all lines of business and works closely with Global Document Services (GDS); Global Business Document Tracking (GBDT); and Corporate archive teams.

An Output Systems Software Engineer will be a key member of the team. The candidate must be self-motivated with a strong background in technology and a proven ability to translate business needs into data rich, enabled applications. Technical and intellectual curiosity is required, along with the ability to pick up concepts and techniques quickly in order to execute projects and solutions. Technical debugging and problem resolution are important components of the position. While this role is primarily as an Ab Initio developer, it will require performance and understanding across all aspects of project lifecycle.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Designs,analyzes, develops, tests, debugs and delivers software and/or new products.

  • Demonstratesan understanding of the importance of end to end software developmentwhich will include working in Agile frameworks.

  • Collaborateswith fellow team members and keeps the team and other key stakeholderswell informed of progress of application business features being developed.

  • Strongcommunication skills, be able to communicate effectively and work closelytogether with business clients, other technology teams, support partnersand stakeholders to deliver and support business aligned solutions.

  • ChangeManagement – Full knowledge of Change Management process and toolsrequired along with experience in handling complex deploymentscoordinating with operations team.

  • Participatesin design reviews / code reviews and ensure that all solutions are alignedto pre-defined architectural specifications.

  • Identifiesand troubleshoots application code-related issues; and review and providefeedback to project teams.

  • Managesday-to-day individual workload, identifies / mitigates project risks.

  • Strong software development experience in object oriented programming language: analysis, design, coding, testing and debugging skills

  • Two years of development experience with OpenTextExstream Dialogue composition tool

  • Demonstrated ability to think critically and creatively to develop innovative solutions to software problems

  • Possesses working knowledge of XML

  • Technical experience with mainfram technologies, primarily Cobol, JCL, and VSAM is a plus

  • Functional experience with change management, implementation planning and release management

  • Review business requirement documents, complete project documentation according to SDLC requirements

  • Release management including implementation planning

  • A proactive approach to problem solving, taking ownership of issues and having the determination to follow things through

  • Good prioritization and time management and able to multitask across multiple projects at once

  • Production support experience is a plus

  • Experience in a UNIX and XML scripting language is a plus.

  • Experience in Web development and/or Database exposure is a plus
