Wells Fargo Paralegal 3 in Chicago, Illinois

This position will provide support to the Commercial Distribution Finance (CDF) line of business reporting to the CDF Paralegal Manager, who reports to the CDF Managing Counsel. This position will support all CDF portfolios, answering questions related to customer issues, coordinating subpoena responses and discovery requests with CDF's litigation counsel, and managing CDF’s standard and non-standard documents used to manage customer issues. This includes providing substantiation and background for specific client inquiries, claims, disputes, cases and/or proceedings with minimal direction of an attorney. In addition this individual needs to be able to produce clear and concise written materials that can be submitted to the client/customer with minimal revision or review by an attorney. Moreover, this individual will provides support to a specialized practice or functional area within the Law Department requiring a high degree of analytical, written and oral communication and organizational skills. He/she should possess specialized skills, knowledge, and expertise in a particular area of the law (e.g. "subject matter expertise"). In addition, this position requires someone who can work directly with business clients to develop an understanding of business unit needs and plans to resolve issues.

Further, this role develops relationships with business units and is proactive in participating in strategic efforts of clients while identifying and addressing issues. The candidate should be able to identify specific, as well as broad underlying issues in area of expertise and work independently on very complex assignments without direct supervision. He/she may develop and lead a team to meet assignment resolution plans and/or client needs, and negotiate adjustments to client plans as needed. This position also provides direction, guidance, training and resources to less experienced paralegals.

Required Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of paralegal experience

  • 3+ years of focused practice in a concentrated area of law

  • Paralegal certification may be required in some states
